Tangerine Dream while stoned.

Zappa 05-30-2006 02:33 PM

The Pastels should have hired someone who could sing.

Little Man being Erased 05-30-2006 02:47 PM

Gnarls Barkley, The Faint, and Tom Petty.

Zappa 05-30-2006 04:33 PM

Morphine is dope, and somehow they speak to high-schoolers fairly well.

I have been listening to Odyshape by the Raincoats. This continues the trend that perceptive WHYBDL thread readers have noticed I've been on. Downloaded a ton of chick-powered post-punk the last couple days. This is a very strange album, but it's also neat. It kind of reminds me of a more abrasive Moondog.

1 Girl Talk 21
2 Minus the Bear 19
3 Hüsker Dü 18
4 Iron Maiden 17
4 At the Drive-In 17
6 Minutemen 16
7 Mastodon 15
8 ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead 12
9 Pixies 10
9 Soundgarden 10

Girl Talk is a good idea :)

Little Man being Erased 05-30-2006 04:53 PM

Girl Talk is rad.

Zappa, you might like The Organ. They're a chick band with post-punk tinges. Very Smiths/Cure influenced.

Kurtz 05-30-2006 04:58 PM

The Chemical Brothers

ohh yes

I've been listening to their self-titled off and on for the last couple of weeks. The song "Life on the Line" is one of my favorite things right now.

Dog 05-30-2006 11:42 PM

I've been meaning to check out Odyshape for a while now. Their s/t is good.

pixiesfanyo 05-31-2006 05:39 PM

Did you guys get turned on to Evolution Fight by me.. or through your own devices?
