You are an abomination.
|
Holy **** sauce, you're not dead. I honestly thought you'd been hit by a mobile crane that careened through a level crossing.
|
A reasonable assumption, I'll give you that.
|
So, you were only hospitalised by the incident?
|
Sup casual.
|
Sup dude.

W0rd Cas.
Coheed & Cambria tonight. w00t! Friend has a 21st birthday today, so we went to the bar last night at midnight for a power hour and got her completely trashed by time the bar closed. It was awesome. |
Oh yeah, silly American's can't drink 'til they're 21.
|
Silly indeed.
I'm not really at all familiar with Coheed, but they seem like they could be pretty sweet to see live. In me news, my band's new singer is wicked. Finally, what we've been looking for all along has found us. |

Yeah, it's pretty stupid, and it's probably why we have more DUI (driving under the influence) charges than any other country. Europe has it right: Learn to drink responsibly, then learn to drive responsibly. In America, you learn to drive, then 5 years later (obviously, once you become a pro driver), you get to drink and show off your mad driving skills while drunk as sh*t. The U.S. irritates the sheisse out of me. We've tried so hard to separate ourselves from our British roots that we don't adopt all of the good things that would make our country better: lowered drinking age, longer time spent in driving training, roundabouts, third party representation in the legislature...just to name a few.
Silly indeed. I'm not really at all familiar with Coheed, but they seem like they could be pretty sweet to see live. In me news, my band's new singer is wicked. Finally, what we've been looking for all along has found us.
I caught a 45-minute set of theirs a couple years back, and I was really impressed. Musically, they are all very talented and incredibly tight live. Their most recent album is definitely the most musical (and heaviest) album they've ever put out. It's a great album, and I love the progressive angle I've heard them take on, but I find that it's lacking the pop-punk, ball-squeezing falsetto vocals found earlier on in songs like "Time Consumer" and "Blood Red Summer." It was kind of their signature sound, but after 8 or so years, not many would be able to keep those vocals going, so I guess I can't expect too much in that department. What's your new singer like? Any clips from previous bands or anything? I should be going into the studio next weekend to work on a alternative/blues style thing for this guy. He's getting a contract drafted up so that I will be entitled to one-sixth of all CD revenue (that I record) and one-sixth of all income from shows that I play. That's pretty exciting. It's my first true, paid session gig. |
As far as I know, she's never been in a band before. She writes songs, plays guitar, and sings, though.
I can hook you up a demo of a new song of ours. I'd actually like to hear what you think. |

Sent. Listen please. :D |
Why do I have male porn on my computer now?

I definitely like your new singer better.

Cool. She's quite good. Did you like the song? |
I'm going to give it another listen through something better tomorrow when I'm home. I only have the work speakers in front of me, and I don't want to critique without hearing it fully.

Alright, cool. I await your... words. |

Coheed was amazing. I'm a little upset that they didn't play more from Good Apollo Vol 1, but it was an amazing show regardless. /fanboy |
I've kinda given up on Coheed.
Like there first two albums were almost ground breaking in a sense. Then there was the third which was okay but just did not have the originality of the first two. Then the fourth was a huuuuuge let down, but saved itself with a few cool tunes. Don't even get me started on the fifth. I understand you like it, but why? I mean there's no song content in there, they just got so obsessed with weird randoms sounds and used them so untastefully. And the engineering is pretty damn horrible compared the older stuff. |
Spiff: Joe is avoiding critiquing because he obv. doesn't like the song. Doesn't matter what you listen to something through, if it's a good song, it's a good song.

Ohsnap.

 :upset: While I feel that poor production isn't really a huge factor when it comes to how I feel about music, what you listen to it through does make a big difference. I listen to a bit of music at work sometimes, but the computer speakers don't really have any bass response and cymbals tend to drown out everything else. |

Like IKSOSE:3, I find that the music became a little more progressive and the vocals still had the old Coheed charm. Good Apollo Vol 2 was a letdown to say the least. A few decent songs on there, but as a whole, I can't get into the album. Year of the Black Rainbow is considerably better than the previous release, although it's quite lacking vocally. However, musically, Coheed stepped it up a few heavy notches, IMO. Claudio was right when he said it was their most musical album. Time consumer, time consuming, consume Coheed (and let them put out another Second Stage...) |

Unless it's my desktop speakers at work that seem to cut all noise below 400hz. :upset: I actually have been really busy with my homework and cram studying for my Mathematical Structures final on Thursday. Speaking of which, this is a really interesting read. I think it adequately describes how I feel about the subject, and keeps it humorous throughout. :) http://plato.asu.edu/LockhartsLament.pdf To give you a back story, the author dropped out of college, pissed off with the way schools approached math, studied the subject on his own, and came back a few years later with a thesis and dissertation to get his doctorate. |

Not if you can't make it out. |
I remember why I don't like Alberta. You visit for three days in May and it snows the whole time. I'm ready to leave now.

Damn, that sucks. There hasn't been a sign of snow here since it all melted... a month and a half ago? |
Not if you can't make it out.
What, did you record it with one of these? Dude, I listen to music from the external speaker on my phone sometimes and I've never not been able to make out a song. |
