I don't like the term emo, but I still use it because it's the correct term.
yeah but what if a band that isn't from midwest plays that style.

that's why i don't like it.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THAT SITUATION??

bottlerocket 08-30-2006 05:02 PM

Someone send me Cap'n Jazz and Catena Collapse.

team_racket 08-30-2006 05:15 PM

cap n jazz is yummy. prefer to call the style midwestern. and as good as life at these speeds are, i too dont see them important to the development of the genre. good call on the Hated and You And I though.

bottlerocket 08-30-2006 05:16 PM

Cap'n Jazz >>>>>>>>> LATS

LATS is still good, though.

It's still Midwest. It's called that because of where it originated and it doesn't matter where it comes from.

Edit: Well, technically it's "Midwest Indie influenced Emo" but Midwest for short.

Matt? 08-30-2006 06:18 PM

ok cool.

PS I HAVE A PACKAGE WAITING

wonder what it is

White Goodman 08-30-2006 07:10 PM

I just dled the Amanda Woodward discography and some Angel Hair and I must say I'm quite impressed with both. I also dled some Jeromes Dream and maybe it needs a few more listens but the vocals are a little bit rediculous to me.

I actually buy most of what I dl. In fact yesterday I ordered all of the Hot Cross albums, Gospel's album, and several other cds that I found on Soulseek. I'm not a total mooch, I just like to try stuff before I buy it.

Luxor 08-30-2006 07:28 PM

Ah, nice. Good job then.

White Goodman 08-30-2006 07:30 PM

Soon enough I believe I need to purchase the Angel Hair, Welcome the Plague Year and a few of the Amanda Woodward cds if I can find them.

whiteminority 08-30-2006 07:31 PM

Check Majority Rule if you havn't already.

Nah

White Goodman 08-30-2006 07:39 PM

I just found the Welcome the Plague Year, Angel Hair, and a few Orchid albums I haven't bought yet, I'm gonna have to buy them next week I guess. No I haven't checked out Majority Rule yet, I'll get around to it soon enough.

Luxor 08-30-2006 07:51 PM

La Quiete renamed the two Pure Pain Sugar songs on their myspace. They're now called Guigno and Piccolo something.

I'm confused about this album though and I can't find any info. Is it a full length? When is it being released? It isn't already released, is it?

Luxor 08-30-2006 07:57 PM
the 7" is coming out together with a cd that will contain videos
White Goodman 08-30-2006 08:00 PM

Wow, I was just browsing around and I realized we have the same birthday Luxor. Just thought it was cool.

Luxor 08-30-2006 08:00 PM

Nice, except that I'll be turning 19. Legal drinking age in Canada. Tittie bars here I come!

:)

bottlerocket 08-30-2006 08:03 PM

^ hahaha!

I buy emo stuff on CDs and stuff. Actually, my friend saw the Ampere/Sinaloa split and some other surprise album (hasn't told me yet) on vinyl and got them for me. My friends rule.

Damn United States law, I have to wait about 3 years for that. Oh well I can still drink illegally which I do anyways. I'll be 18 so I can go to to tittie bars and buy cigars, really awesome.

cobert 08-30-2006 08:05 PM

I always tell my friends to download songs, then they tell me they cant find them, and I ask them what they use, and they all use iTunes.

Luxor 08-30-2006 08:17 PM

18 year olds can go to strip clubs? They can't here cause there's drinking

White Goodman 08-30-2006 08:25 PM
18 year olds can go to strip clubs? They can't here cause there's drinking
Yeah, we can go, but they mark our hands so we can't buy drinks.

I only know this because I used a fake ID last Saturday. Really surprised it worked, it was plain horrible. Maybe it's a good thing the bouncers are usually college students.

'Sup Emo guys? Been a long time since I've posted here.

So I've got this speech class, as in public speaking, and one of our speeches is informative and I was thinking, emo might be a good one. Should I? I have to have visual aids, I'd probably use clips of emo songs, etc. Talk about the history and all. My audience will be 18-20 year olds. Good idea? Bad idea? Shut the **** up we don't care?

Wow 08-30-2006 11:30 PM

Bad idea.

bottlerocket 08-30-2006 11:31 PM

Eh...it could be interesting but I doubt others will get into it.

-Gav

Sleeper 08-30-2006 11:41 PM

Most of them probally have the narrow mind set on what Emo is, could be a good wake up call. Go for it.
