I'll probably do better than on 46&2 because Lateralus is alot easier for the most part.

The end of 46&2 was so hard to do because I really have to throw it out there to get it and I didn't get it that time.
Dude if you cant get it right then do something else that sounds good with the song. . .improvise :p give it a shot

Moses 07-09-2005 12:31 PM

I could just scream the part......

My dirty voice is better than my clean one anyway.

clearvision 07-09-2005 12:34 PM

I need some bass and some drums for aenima...what happened to ken? And where is JoZ? Jake, you talk to JoZ, no? Ihave just sensed the deadline is looming, and this needs to be mixed up well...

Moses 07-09-2005 12:36 PM

Deadline is the first of August.

clearvision 07-09-2005 12:38 PM

Yeah, it is looming...we need bass for lateralus too...other than that we can cover the ground with guitars/vocals...

Moses 07-09-2005 12:41 PM

Who's doing bass for that? I also hope they bring out the syncopation on the "With my feet upon the ground" part. It's necessary for the song to be effective.

Anyway I just sang along with the real version and I feel really confident about Lateralus.

clearvision 07-09-2005 12:45 PM

I want to cover only by Nin...the video has brought that song back to my attention, Trent's voice owns in that song, when he shows his delerium and stuff with little whispers...Video is quality too...:)

I mentioned it because we still need bass for it...no-one has claimed it to my knowledge

Moses 07-09-2005 12:46 PM

I haven't seen that video.....

That song kicks *** though. I really love the disco beat.

clearvision 07-09-2005 12:51 PM

The video, shows an office set-up....with a mac, set of ball things that go tick tick...and one of those things with all these pins in where you can make handprints etc...

Trent is shown on the pin thing while the music comes out of the computer...it sounds pants when i'm explaining it but it really is a good video, though some of the camera shots are a bit off, there is one point where he pushes the glass with his hand, that bit is great...

/hasn't been watching it endlessley

Moses 07-09-2005 12:55 PM

Do they play it on MTV and stuff because the last thing I want is teeny boppers singing The Hand That Feeds?

clearvision 07-09-2005 01:01 PM

Scuzz, which is just as bad

Meh Scuzz is ok sometimes, they tend to play alot of generic emo, I remember screwing one time because i thought they played two MCR songs, but one turned out to be the used  yeah...

Teeny boppers wouldn't sing THTF, one of my mates saw it on CD:UK (pop show) and was liek wtf is tht goff doing? And my ex was so imparital to Nin, when she loved loads of other stuff...basically i don't think Nin has the teeny bopper appeal.

Moses 07-09-2005 01:04 PM

If they had played the MTV awards I think it might have sunk in to the teeny boppers.

Either way I don't really care.

Moses 07-09-2005 01:23 PM

I recorded a chorus but it's really muffled because my mic is deciding to be a bitch.

Artemician 07-09-2005 01:27 PM

Well I just realized how little of a life I have. Ever since reading about the morse code thing on Toolband, I decided to try and over-analyze it (I always interpreted the Lateralus lyric as a good thing). Anyway, here's what I've realized so far:

The word (••• – •• – – • – –) seems to spell "stittett", but that doesn't make any sense. Here I realized that there are no defined spaces between the groups (apart from spaces on either side of a dash, which very well probably means nothing). Here's where it gets confusing, with no defined spaces, you now have to interpret where the spaces would go.

I haven't found that much yet, but rest assured that I will squeeze this dry, as I really have nothing better to do with my time.

Hee hee, tit.

Anyway here's my bit of muffled chorus.

I'll look into that, thanks.

*just wasted a lot of time*

Syncratic 07-09-2005 04:18 PM

Hey, all, just got back from Ocean City. The trip was fun!

So, any news from the world of Tool or in the thread?

Moses 07-09-2005 07:38 PM

What the hell?

/Bump

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-09-2005 07:58 PM

So I'm going to elaborate on what Herb said about the new album's themes to be centralized on space due to Blair's "updates." One lyric is standing out in my mind that would perhaps be a gateway from Lateralus to whatever's next. "Spiral out, keep going" is perhaps referring to unexplored areas of the galaxy.(I've said it before, I know) I say this because of the galaxy contains to spirals. I'm on drugs, so forgive me if this sounds butchered or anything, but you'll get the basic gist of it, I think. :D

Well also in Faaip de Oiad they were talking about aliens.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-09-2005 08:11 PM

True, very true.

Oh, and on a semi-Tool-related note: When I was in having my wisdom teeth removed, when they first gave me the nitrous, all I could hear was static, and I felt my body get all tingly, and it was almost as if I just kind of paused in time. Sound like an astral projection to anyone?

Moses 07-09-2005 08:12 PM

Ha, I get those all the time......

.........

..........

Not really.

Well I'm gonna upload my vocals for Lateralus soon. The first verse and chorus are done.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-09-2005 08:16 PM

Well, let me explain. From what I've heard/read about astral projections, right before you are about to leave your body, you start hearing a bunch of static. [see: (-) ions] Oh, and if you've never heard of astrally projecting, it's like meditation, but instead of just relaxing in a sedated state, you actaully leave your body, and you can go pretty much anywhere. :amaze:

I know what it is and I think I've gotten one once but it was before I went to bed and it was really spinny and stuff so I stopped.

Okay, here's my vocals. Some things are double tracked.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-09-2005 08:22 PM

I think you have to be asleep. Perhaps you just had a headrush or something. I've been having plenty of those recently. :-/ But yeah, you really have to be in a super deep state of meditation and such, so I doubt it was that.

Moses 07-09-2005 08:26 PM

No, it definately wasn't a headrush. It wasn't that kinda spinny sensation and I did hear static. I could have been asleep too but I don't think I was because it was really memorable.

Ok, here's my vocals, some parts are double tracked to give it the sound that Maynard has on that song.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-09-2005 08:43 PM

Hey, where'd the guitar come from?

Moses 07-09-2005 08:45 PM

That's Chris' track.

Moses 07-09-2005 08:54 PM

Feedback?
