How big was the chair? :amaze:

-Gav
Like a medium sized computer chair. It didn't hit him, but I think it got the point across.

bottlerocket 08-30-2006 03:49 PM
we awake disheartened is the only bob song i really like
you taunt me so.

cheers for link anyway. appreciated.

White Goodman 08-30-2006 04:05 PM

Yeah, my alcohol tolerance was very low before college. But man has college changed that.

cobert 08-30-2006 04:05 PM

Cap'n Jazz probably wouldve been accepted at some preppy college circa 1996.

Im thinking about downloading a lot of emo stuff from all the different ages and having one big 20 song CD with the history of emo on it, so I can let my friends borrow it so i wont have to explain it to them once a month.

Matt? 08-30-2006 04:08 PM

20 songs that would be kinda hard to choose...

i made a playlist that has a few of my favorite songs from every band i like and it's like almost two hundred songs

kids round here still dont get it or care. that is a damn good idea. i wouldnt know what to accurately throw on it though. save a lot of time explaining.

I mean like, take one song from the 4 or 5 defining bands of different eras (old 80's stuff, early 90's, late 90's, and 2000 to present).

This sounds like a project.

Matt? 08-30-2006 04:11 PM

i think i want to do this too so i can recruit band members

yea we should make an mxtape

DUDE ROFL I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS LAST NIGHT WITH NEESHEE BUT WITH AN EMBRACE ALBUM

DAMN I JUST REMEMBERED! ROFL

cobert 08-30-2006 04:13 PM

Ill be needing 20 bands then.

Any suggestions for bands to go on the different sections?

Matt? 08-30-2006 04:15 PM

nineties should be split i think not by early and later but by like indie emo and "screamo" stuff

edit: ROFL damn i could barely comprehend that crusaders post. but i agree with him f'uck this emo bulls'hit

Arrakakaka 08-30-2006 04:18 PM

Me too, that Moss Icon album is halfway done.

SDRE and The Hated after that.

cobert 08-30-2006 04:19 PM

MATT: Yeah, but if i put indie emo on it, it might give the wrong thoughts ("rofl this is like tbs with more gay singing roflrofl)". Maybe I should just have a lot of 90's screamo stuff on it, maybe throw a little cap'n Jazz on for good measure.

White Goodman 08-30-2006 04:19 PM

If you guys make that mix, let me know because my roomate heard me listening to Hot Cross and Gospel the other day and was wanting to know how to begin in emo, so I would use that as a guide to him I guess.

Arrakakaka 08-30-2006 04:20 PM

I can lend in a few tracks for that if you want. Let me know, AIM is Arrakakaka.

cobert 08-30-2006 04:21 PM

K, will do. Ill be talking about it in here and trying to get the mix together, so it will be posted when its done.

Arrakakaka 08-30-2006 04:22 PM

You need Dag Nasty on that mix, they influenced the genre.

Gav, YSI is being a turtle.

White Goodman 08-30-2006 04:23 PM

not very organized and i'd hafta go through it again to edit stuff i don't really like off the list. but it's a kind of alright start. it's kind of uneven too because i like certain time periods a lot more then others

Arrakakaka 08-30-2006 04:36 PM

Good list. I have a few suggestions.

Matt? 08-30-2006 04:39 PM

some of those bands shouldn't be on there, i was just thinking of bands that fit each profile. not all of them are that important i don't think. it should be edited. i might edit it in a couple of minutes

Arrakakaka 08-30-2006 04:41 PM

Good start though.

cobert 08-30-2006 04:41 PM

Thats a great list. Ill try to weed a few out and add a few more (you and I). Still a good start though, thanks.

Arrakakaka 08-30-2006 04:45 PM

I'd add stuff like The Hated, You And I, Life At These Speeds.

cobert 08-30-2006 04:49 PM

And Heroin. They were pretty cool.

Matt? 08-30-2006 04:51 PM

yeah you and i and heroin probably should be on there, i just don't really like either of them haha.

i only have one song by the hated, but i like it a lot. life on these speeds is awesome but i dunno how important they are to the genre

Wow 08-30-2006 04:56 PM
some of those bands shouldn't be on there, i was just thinking of bands that fit each profile. not all of them are that important i don't think. it should be edited. i might edit it in a couple of minutes
Midwest isn't 90's v1, it's Midwest. Call it that.

Matt? 08-30-2006 04:56 PM

i don't really like that term. there should be a better name then it.

everyone has trouble with it. i mean post emo indie rock...

Wow 08-30-2006 04:57 PM

I don't like the term emo, but I still use it because it's the correct term.

Arrakakaka 08-30-2006 04:58 PM

Life At These Speeds is just sweet. :)

cobert 08-30-2006 04:59 PM

Yeah, I prefer to call it indie emo.
