yea, that's pretty solid though. You always have the advantage of living where most people would love to travel/go to school

I thought you were past the gay metal stage.

yeah i went to a seminar for UCLA and the first words out of the guy's mouth was "our minimum requirements is a 3.5 GPA". it made me very :(. and i don't know if i could cope with leaving california. i know my friend left to go to NYU and she is always talking about how she wants to go to UCLA, heh heh. Most people think it's a shithole, and they want to get out of here as fast as possible, but TBH it's a really nice place to live so I don't know what they're talking about.

gmoneyguy 10-15-2007 12:58 PM

I have a friend at NYU. She says Haley Joel Osmend(sp?) sells drugs.

Bartender 10-15-2007 12:58 PM

Conversation's evidently moved on a bit now, but still.
I see no logic in "pre-established harmony."
Why not?

you say that as if it's worth getting excited about :-\
you say that as if it's worth getting excited about :-\
should've thrown in a :( at the end of that. sarcasm is difficult over the internets.

gmoneyguy 10-15-2007 01:02 PM

No matter we have choices in almost anything we do. Not being able to turn back time and redo is not sufficient evidence to say that all things have been programmed to make the choices they make and endure the changes that they endure. Being an atheist, I don't believe in a creator who programmed all monads.

When I was the in the area over the summer I thought it was awesome, I don't know how living there is though. NYU is a long way from Cali, culturally as well. One of my good friends goes there for film school but I'm guessing it's easier to adjust to NY if you grew up on the east coast. I love the city for bits at a time, but I don't think I could live in the heart of it like where NYU is.

There's a general feeling among high school seniors that going away is the next step, so it's not unusual that a lot of your friends are in that sort of "this place sucks I need to get away". That's definitely how I was with Annapolis but when I go back there now I appreciate it.

Deth 10-15-2007 01:02 PM

I'm strongly considering transferring universities after next semester. Watch this space.

Kage 10-15-2007 01:03 PM

Why?

Well my friends are kind of morons too and they don't realize how privileged they are. My friend wrecked her car (while driving drunk) and her parents paid for the entire thing to be fixed. And she bitches about her car being gone. =|
I'm strongly considering transferring universities after next semester. Watch this space.
I heard that transferring universities can be really tricky.

gmoneyguy 10-15-2007 01:05 PM

At least you guys aren't spending a third year at community college :(.

Changing from music to architecture really messed up my immediate plans.

Lunch 10-15-2007 01:05 PM

lol at spoiled SoCal kids

"DADDY it wasn't MY FAULT! I was DRUNK!"

Deth 10-15-2007 01:06 PM

idk where I am now just doesn't work for me. A lot of kids from my high school come here and I want to get some separation. The area really doesn't suit what I want and everything is so new that it doesn't even feel like a university campus. It's a whole long list of everything that has piled up over the past couple of months. At the end of the day, I can't imagine staying here 4 years.

EDIT: To Kage

ahahaha my school is chock FULL of girls like that. we have the second-biggest drug problem in the orange county area, I think. (Behind Laguna Beach High School, but come on... isn't that obvious?)

Lunch 10-15-2007 01:08 PM

I didn't see what the big deal was about Laguna Beach when we drove through there.

gmoneyguy 10-15-2007 01:10 PM

MTV and its abhorrent obsession with meaningless rich kid relationships.

Eliminator 10-15-2007 01:11 PM

actually it isnt mtv its the kids that watch it

Kage 10-15-2007 01:11 PM

SoCal mutahfucak.

MBS 10-15-2007 01:13 PM
I didn't see what the big deal was about Laguna Beach when we drove through there.
There actually is nothing special about Laguna Beach aside from the fact that there is tons of MONEY in the area. and as diabolus said...
MTV and its abhorrent obsession with meaningless rich kid relationships.
you could say that it spawned from the oc, but i think mtv has taken it a step further by scripting laguna beach. i mean, seriously, i've never seen anything that happens in those shows happen in real life. and i LIVE here.

lunch, did you check out venice beach while you were down here?

gmoneyguy 10-15-2007 01:13 PM
actually it isnt mtv its the kids that watch it
The kids are by products of what MTV puts out.

Eliminator 10-15-2007 01:14 PM

oh yeah obey mtv obey is brainwashing children into watching reality shows

Lunch 10-15-2007 01:15 PM

Yea, Venice Beach and Huntington Beach were two of the cooler places we visited in SoCal

i've never heard anyone call orange county "The O.C" until the show came out.

MTV and "The O.C" set a fictional precedent on what the area should be like and the kids are trying to live like it.
Yea, Venice Beach and Huntington Beach were two of the cooler places we visited in SoCal
venice is awesome, such a knit-tight community of people. Where else did you visit?

Kage 10-15-2007 01:17 PM

Venice beach is cool but parking and traffic are a pain in the ass.
Venice beach is cool but parking and traffic are a pain in the ass.
Traffic is pretty bad in general based on my experience there. At least in SoCal the 101 is.

superpeer 10-15-2007 01:30 PM

Yeah, totally, dudes.
I have a friend at NYU. She says Haley Joel Osmend(sp?) sells drugs.
I really really hate that guy.

MBS 10-15-2007 01:30 PM
Yeah, totally, dudes.
Righteous, brah.

so i caught this sick tube this morning and i nearly barreled it but this newfish caught it too and i was like "woaaaah" and he was like "woaaah" and we collisioned.

it was pretty righteous.

superpeer 10-15-2007 01:33 PM

Ha ha! The things we Americans go through. Priceless!
