I've only bought three of their albums, shall we say.

I own Ghost Reveries, Still life and Deliverance. I have the music from all their albums on my computer though. If they came down in price somewhere I'd pick them all up. I've never seen Damnation or Deliverance in stores in the UK, my girlfriend got Deliverance from Poland for me when she was there, lol.

Dude, it's the truth. MR is either equal or better in all areas.

Songwriting = equally bad on both
Riffs/solos = pretty much all the ones on MR are better
Acoustic sections = the ones on MR are vastly better
Clean vocal melodies = "
Production = equally bad on both

Basically that's it.

Second or third best. It's still amazing though.

I think it's the best. Everything is great. The riffing is great, production is probably the best out of any of their albums, and Akefeldt's voice is at its absolute best on there.

And I think hearing The Drapery Falls live really made me like that song better.

I think Akerfeldt is at his beset on Still Life overall. The clean vocals have more feel on that album IMO, and the growls are the most clear.

I think Ghost Reveries is their best release yet.

Plus it has one of my favorite Opeth songs: The Grand Conjuration

I'm only comparing it to Damnation and Blackwater Park though.

Right now, I'd have to say I like My Arms, Your Hearse best. That album grows on me every time I listen to it, which is scary considering the fact that I already love it.

MAYH is awesome! That was the first Opeth album I bought, so it obviously has a special place in my heart.

BWP is close to being the greatest, but IMO it takes a dip in quality between the end of The Drapery Falls (the death metal part basically) and most of The Funeral Portrait...whereas Still Life, which is the other main competitor for the top, is solid 100% of the way through.

BWP is helped massively by Steven Wilson's producing skill, though. It just sounds so much more refined and intricate.

Still Life bores the crap out of me.

When I'm listening to Still Life i tend to get bored after Godhead's Lament. Its probably just cause i don't feel like listening to the whole album.

Still Life is good. I gotta be in the mood though.

Righto, I'm really really really into Opeth and Agalloch at the mo and I want to dig up as many bands that are doing similar stuff to these two. Any bands that match these kinda criteria:

- Mixture of clean/growled vocals
- Proggy bits
- Acoustic sections
- Riffage

Anything going is good :).
