Adding on to an older conversation, my sister loves Metallica. Of course she got into them via their more accessbile albums (black, S&M) but she loves MOP and even came to their concert with me...it's only a matter of time before i get her to listen to Kill Em all.

My sister let me down big time. She used to be into all kinds of metal, including Metallica. Now, she has completely abandoned her metal roots and is preparing to go to a Ashley Simpson "concert" tomorrow. That's all she listens to now...meh. Anyway my current favorite album is AJFA, but like Slip said it changes very often.

Ya my fav album used to change constantly for a period of time but it's been MOP for a good long while now and it probably won't change..unless their new album is unbelievable.

Ride the lighning is my favorite, i think every song on there is great, even escape and trapped under ice

Ughh, i hate trapped under ice. Yet so many regulars in this thread love it. It just has no flow to it IMO.

ride the lightning is a great album, my favourite tracks being fight fire with fire, ride the lightning, for whom the bell tolls, fade to black & call of ktulu. escape, creeping death & trapped under ice IMO are ok tracks, not the best though.

hey everyone, im new to this site but in no way new to my boys metallica. i love basically all their albums. kill em all, ride the lightning, and mop being my favourites by far. i can play a lot of their stuff, bar basically all of kirks solo's, although the intro to fade to black, one, and welcome home are easy, but yeah hope i havnt found this forum to late. peace

I like most of that album, only ones i don't like are Fight fire with fire and call of ktulu.

fuel and the memory remains are probably my fave songs, that was off metallicas first album?? reload?? yeh?

and if you know anything about metallica, reload was released in 1996, kill 'em all was 1983 (i think), and that was the first album

Because Call of ktulu is one of the most boring instrumentals i have ever heard and in fight fire with fire the singing sounds like s[I][U][/U][/I]hit to me.

i would of thought the genius would of been the more apporpriate word.

someone here said james's solo's were better than kirks.................. now come on, i dont care if it is your opinion. thats like saying simpleplan are more talented musicians than dreamtheatre. James is my idol dont get me wrong but kirks solos are amongst the best in any metal band ever. lightning quick, and have a nack to make people nearly teary eyed. also james doesnt do the MoP interlude on his own its double tracked with kirk playing it at the same time, apart from one little bit in it where kirk plays a second layer. that said james is an incredible riff/solo writer who im still trying to figure out how he plays some of the riffs he does whilest singing. but hes not in the same in your face solo'ing league as kirk. peace

Moaner owns the Jam session and Tonewhore helps out in the begginers forum all the time.
