Yea, but didn't he specifically say southerners. They probably didn't appeciate Neil generalizing all of the south as racist.
In middle Mississippi (Thats were all the rednecks are)that is probaly true, but down here on the coast we have alot of cities nearby. New Orleans, Biloxi, Mobile, and Pensacola. They bring in educated people, which cause a decline in rasicism. I have lived here for 6 months I haven't heard of one hate crime down here.

I live in Mississippi if you haven't figured that out yet.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-04-2004 01:57 PM
I live in the south!

Its actually not as racist, down here, as one would think. I live in a populated area so might just because we have educated people were I live.
Me too but its a mix here 1\2 Mex. 1\4 other 1\4 rednecks. Damm you Family Guy!!!!!

You're not helping southerns look any less racist...

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 02:02 PM

from what i heard what happened it seemed like neil put down the south in either alabama or southern man first...lynyrd skynard retaliated with sweet home alabama, and then neil released another song directed towards southerners. people say Ronnie Van Zandt was buried in a Neil Young shirt just so spite Neil Young but i dont think thats true, it just doesn't make sense.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-04-2004 02:03 PM

I didn't mean "normal" as middle white class southerners that are educated people I should have seid "other" insted. :(

BludgeonySteve 12-04-2004 02:05 PM

Yeah, I knew what you meant. It was just hard to resist ;)

Ronnie died in a Neil Young shirt or something. He was always wearing Neil Young shirts to spite him.

i thought southerners were supposed to be racist towards black people, not mexicans and "rednecks".

in saskatchewan we just have white people and aboriginal people. we don't get along very well it seems, but im friends with lots of "non white" people so it doesn't realy matter to me.

what do you guys know about the band Triumph? i have two of their records and i assumed they weren't any good so i didn't listen to them yet. but in the past few days i have heard a couple songs by them and they don't seem too bad. what decade are they from and are there any good songs/albums i could take a look at?

Yeah!, i'm 14, and our band plays all the classics... Zep, Hendrix, a bit of dc. I hope classic rock blocks the crap out of all this new hip hop, and r & b rubbish.

I bumped my reveiw.:)

Who do You Love is the strongest song on Happy Trails.

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 03:30 PM

Does anyone here think the song San Tropez (pink floyd, meddle) would be a good song to play at a school talent show? it's nice and catchy and still can show off some skill.

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 03:32 PM
I bumped my reveiw.:)

did they write that song? is it similiar to the George Thorogood song, or are they completely different songs.

Yeah, he is.

"Jack a Roe" is a fabulous Old Western song, that I'm going to cover soon.

And "Samson & Delilah" is a biblical story. Google the story, it's really interesting.

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 03:39 PM

i thought the names sounded familiar. didn't samson lose his power when delilah cut his hair off?

k my computer is in the same room as my tv, which is right beside my kitchen. i started playing samson and delilah, and my dad is like jeff go do the dishes, so i turn up the music so i can listen to it while i wash the dishes...he walks over, closes the windows for my music, and this site. and then turns on the tv and starts watching football. i go back to turn on the music, and he's like no music, im watching tv.

Yeah, but even the song goes into some specifics.
awesome. hopefully i can listen to it in the next few hours or so, whenever my dad stops watching tv.

Badmoon 12-04-2004 03:43 PM

epiSG_2007 12-04-2004 03:44 PM
I think classic rock is any music that stands the test of time. If its still good ten or twenty years later and doesnt fade away then its classic rock. Assuming its rock in the first place of course. So in that case Yes AcDc is Classic rock

^What? Does you Dad watch TV online?
no, our tv and our computer are in the same room, and for some reason he must hear his football announcer drone on about something that no one will care about years from now.

Broken Arrow 12-04-2004 03:55 PM
oh ok. who was in QMS? wasn't Janis Joplin or someone like that in it? or am i thinking of big brother?
QMS had really good musicains but no one overly famous. They are really underated IMO.

Janis was in Big Brother Holding Company.:)

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-04-2004 04:10 PM

Has anyone listined to George Harrison's Concert for BanglaDesh? Right now listining I love it.

oh ic. was QMS part of the San Francisco movement in the sixties? i dont think i've heard anything by them, and nothing has came up when i searched.

hey badmoon i listened to those songs. i really like Jack A Roe, i kinda wanna learn it now. is it just me...or for every Grateful Dead song you search, there is a ratio of about 15 live songs to 1 studio song?

Badmoon 12-04-2004 04:32 PM

Yeah, you should learn it. Nothing makes a person cooler than playing a Dark Western song.

thickasabrick 12-04-2004 04:34 PM
Yeah, you should learn it. Nothing makes a person cooler than playing a Dark Western song.
is there a certain site that i could use to find good/accurate Grateful Dead tabs? or should i just mosey on down to mxtabs?

Badmoon 12-04-2004 04:38 PM

Well, this site gives some good tabs. Though I'm sure a portion of them aren't correct, they are all close. And they offer songs others don't.

Best part, Harrison's and Clapton's guitar solo at the end of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

Broken Arrow 12-04-2004 05:01 PM
