Has anyone else read "31 Songs" by Nick Hornby. It also goes by the title "Songbook."
I haven't read that, but I am a fan of Nick Hornby. I may have to pick it up at some point.

br3ad_man 05-17-2005 03:42 AM
Did you need to ask?
Of course he didn't. He just wanted to brag about him seeing Pixies.

It'll make the bragging more official if you loan me $25 ;)

Tomahawk 05-17-2005 11:26 AM

I know sweet fuck all about him, but I See a Darkness is the one to get.

<< Reading The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison again just for the hell of it (it was required text for one of my classes).

Interstate 05-17-2005 01:39 PM
I'd recommend Master & Everyone, as it was my first, but other people seem to prefer I See A Darkness. Both are very good album, though.
Thanks, both of you - I've seen a few of his cds going for cheap on ebay so I'll bear your recommendations in mind :thumb:

BillCosby 05-17-2005 11:10 PM
I tried listening to Pinkerton today, it has 2 good songs, guess what they are.
Haha, what a typo. You typed 2 instead of 10.

Zmev 05-17-2005 11:19 PM

Nah, Im pretty sure it's 2.

insearchofsomething11 05-17-2005 11:29 PM
Nah, Im pretty sure it's 2.
Zmev 05-17-2005 11:34 PM

Actually I take it back.

Pinkerton has 3 1/2 good songs.

A song I found whilst wandering around the internet, eating locusts and honey and searching for interesting reviews. I've only listened to it once, but it seems alright, so there it is for anyone interested. Reviews of the band it's by make frequent comparisons to Neutral Milk Hotel and Devandra Banhart, if that helps.

Interstate 05-18-2005 04:28 PM

so I bought two cds today (haven't bought any in ages)

got Eels - Shootenanny & REM - Automatic For The People

oh and I got this weird mystery cd bundle (5 cds that are wrapped up so you can't see what they are) for £2....and I know none of the artists :upset:

So - has anyone heard of:

Uma Lane
Lukestar
Emma Mcglynn
Larmousse
Haloblack

yeah I kinda wish I hadn't bought that stupid bundle now....but it looked so inviting :upset:
