God Wreath is good.
Yes but Deliverance and Master's Apprentices are much better imo. Wreath still kicks *** though.

Tyr 07-10-2006 05:21 AM

So, I saw Opeth this weekend at the Metaltown festival in Gothenburg. Really sweet, a bit short, though. One hour isn't very long and they only had time to play five songs. But I got to see Tool as well, so I'm happy anyway.

jpshortstuff 07-12-2006 04:07 AM

well, my verdict is Lamentations = Damn good. the heavier set was incredible and i liked the damnation set more than i thought i would. the documentry was a bit long.

Yeah, Lamentations's really good, even though they just play songs from Deliverance and BWP. I like the documentary, though.

jpshortstuff 07-12-2006 04:17 AM

i love the way they show us numerous clips of recording the drums and then Akerfeldt says: "watching the drums being recorded is really boring"

Tyr 07-12-2006 04:22 AM

That part is a classic.

Shadows 07-12-2006 06:45 PM

Does anyone else here effing love Opeth?

Darkness 07-12-2006 06:48 PM

Nah.

I have the most posts in the thread, though.

Shadows 07-12-2006 06:48 PM

I'll be honest. Anyone who doesn't love Opeth should go frickin' boink themselves.

Darkness 07-12-2006 06:49 PM

Wow, that's a lot of people.

Shadows 07-12-2006 06:50 PM

Finally, the world will be purged of the unworthy.

Darkness 07-12-2006 06:53 PM

Starting with the elitist scum that think Opeth aren't cool because they have more then 4 fans.

Shadows 07-12-2006 06:56 PM

Mos def. God forbid talented bands should get a little recognition for what they do.

Slapping Penguin 07-12-2006 08:46 PM

Yeah I hate those pricks. I have no problem if someone does not enjoy their music understandable but god I hate those who go, "opeth is so gay go listen to NokurngjaurAGOrthahal" Then you go to those people umm, do you know anything else insanly underground. "No I only know that band that no one knows so I can sound Kvlt and troo and hate opeth" Why can't people just say "its not my cup of tea but they are not bad" or "you go enjoy them ;) "

i am the robots 07-12-2006 09:05 PM

Opeth iz liek borring n repetive

Darkness 07-12-2006 09:07 PM

i am the robots 07-12-2006 09:30 PM

Spoonful of Shame 07-12-2006 09:40 PM

sar·casm
n.
A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.

Spoonful of Shame 07-12-2006 09:56 PM

You hear sarcasm in someone’s voice and then it becomes clear what they are implying. Kind of hard for me to determine sarcasm from typed speech don't you think? :smoke:

Darkness 07-12-2006 10:04 PM

Are you kidding? The internet "slang" styled text was proof enough of his sarcasm

C.O.A. 07-12-2006 10:16 PM

so. does anybody like bloodbath.

i can't wait for their dvd to come out.

Darkness 07-12-2006 10:20 PM

Yeah, Bloodbath has some great songs. The Breeding Death EP especially.

The Cynic 07-12-2006 10:22 PM

Would Anybody happen to have that number thingy that It asks for when you get Guitar Pro? I'd apprecciate it very much.

i am the robots 07-12-2006 10:35 PM

I wish Akerfeldt was still in Bloodbath... his gutteral stuff on RTC is so much lower than anything he did on Opeth, unfortunately that album is crap compared to NMF, and I just feel nostalgic listening to it and trying to figure out how much better Akerfeldt could've made it.

C.O.A. 07-12-2006 10:39 PM

yeah i liked mikes voice better. did you guys know bloodbath is looking for a new singer?

i am the robots 07-12-2006 11:00 PM

Yeah... a bunch of people said I should try out, I laughed at their faces.

I highly, highly, doubt that Bloodbath would like a singer who sounds like the Black Dahlia Murder's singer.

I just find it funny how dense people are when it comes to screaming... it's like... he doesn't suck at it... he must be AMAZING!!!!

rhcp pman 07-12-2006 11:08 PM

I'm a fan of Bloodbath and I dig that oldschool death metal sound. Akerfeldt's vocals were good on the first album and Nystrom's guitarwork is nice - I wish Nystrom would let loose more often in Katatonia.

i am the robots 07-12-2006 11:23 PM

I don't... it wouldn't fit in a band like Katatonia.

rhcp pman 07-13-2006 12:50 AM
I don't... it wouldn't fit in a band like Katatonia.
I already love Katatonia's guitarwork, but I think he should maybe write an instrumental where he lets loose a bit more.

Doom might be depressing, slow and lumbering, but if you've got the right person, a fast guitar solo can fit in fairly well.

jpshortstuff 07-13-2006 04:11 AM

/is wearing Deliverence shirt

btw got my Deliverence shirt yesterday

a bit late but yes, yes i do effing love Opeth.

They aren't a doom metal band anymore.

Shadows 07-13-2006 06:03 PM

Ugh, I hate the vocalist from Black Dahlia Murder.

Toaster 07-13-2006 06:11 PM

They should get the guy from Lord Gore. :p

i am the robots 07-13-2006 06:25 PM
Ugh, I hate the vocalist from Black Dahlia Murder.
You'd probably hate my vocals too then :(.

Shadows 07-13-2006 06:43 PM

Probably not. I just think his attempts at growling are laughable.

i am the robots 07-13-2006 06:54 PM

His growling is freaking awesome, what are you talking about?
