love all kinda rock music, and Im only 15... but the stones are one of my favourite bands ever. Its crazy I know, but i feel like back then it was wayyy more sex, drugs, and rock and roll....The bands back then seem to love the music. Now you dont get rock with so much sparkle usually...

Badmoon 12-04-2004 09:59 AM

I just randomly decided to start a featured artist. On Warren Haynes. So far have about 7 long paragraphs.

Badmoon 12-04-2004 10:11 AM

Rock's right. Let's lower than conversation on avatars, and rep points. Keep it out side the thread. :)

****head2 12-04-2004 10:13 AM

It's not classic rock now so we don't care about them.

I listened to Hot Rats last night and I forgot how much I loved it, what other Zappa album is similar to that?

magicbus 12-04-2004 10:49 AM
I listened to Hot Rats last night and I forgot how much I loved it, what other Zappa album is similar to that?
Hot Rats is the only Zappa album I know by name. Dont' think I can help you there.

TO Badmoon, don't worry bout it.

Woodstock 12-04-2004 10:54 AM

Well, thanks anyways.

I wonder if Rock is still CCR-ified. I like them and all, it's just that they kind of get old fast to me. Anyone else feel this?

gmoneyguy 12-04-2004 11:52 AM
Well, aren't you clever.

Guitrguy, got those songs yet?

And has anyone listened to Galadriel?
No I haven't got them , just send them through aim, whenever you get the chance.

Broken Arrow 12-04-2004 01:00 PM

I'm a rep whore so what?

The Quicksilver Messanger Service Album was Happy Trails.:)

But I dont worship them. I just think they are good.:)

Dark Hero 12-04-2004 01:06 PM

Do they sound anything like the Dead?

Broken Arrow 12-04-2004 01:14 PM
Do they sound anything like the Dead?
I guess some of there stuff does.

Happy Trails doesnt really, it's kind of psychedelic/bluesy stuff. It is really good though.:)

sgmarshall3 12-04-2004 01:14 PM
^^^

check out the songs "gator country" and "the edge of sundown" by Molly Hatchet!!!! and Clapton's prime was with Cream...oh how i love Cream!!
I Agree!

Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd are 2 of the most underrated bands in any genre. Awesome guitar riffs, and their lyrics actually MEAN something which make them much better than 90% of the crap I hear IMO.

Also check out 1967-70 Fleetwood Mac, Rory Gallagher, and Johnny Winter if you like Zep's bluesy stuff like "I Can't Quit You" or "Since I've Been Loving You"
They have a nice mix of classic rock with blues. Especially Johnny Winter's "And Live" or "Still Alive and Well" cds. Killer guitar!

Dark Hero 12-04-2004 01:18 PM

Alright, i'll check them out.

barrett 12-04-2004 01:26 PM

yeah, i am Tyson.. haha whats up jeff?

It was a tribute to some one, I forget who (shows how big a fan I am)

Woodstock 12-04-2004 01:40 PM
It was a tribute to some one, I forget who (shows how big a fan I am)
You're right, it was a tribute. I don't know who though, but I know the ripped on Neil Young.

jpj 12-04-2004 01:45 PM
You're right, it was a tribute. I don't know who though, but I know the ripped on Neil Young.
Didn't Neil Young say something about southerners being racist in a song though.

Woodstock 12-04-2004 01:46 PM
Didn't Neil Young say something about southerners being racist in a song though.
Yes, in Southern Man, but he didn't call them rascists. He was just protesting rascism.

BludgeonySteve 12-04-2004 01:48 PM
Didn't Neil Young say something about southerners being racist in a song though.
The song "Alabama" was about how Alabama=teh poop. And "Southern Man" was about how southerners are red neck hicks.

I believe that Southern Man was after sweet home Alabama was written though.

gmoneyguy 12-04-2004 01:48 PM

I live in the south!

Its actually not as racist, down here, as one would think. I live in a populated area so might just because we have educated people were I live.

jpj 12-04-2004 01:51 PM

Yea, but didn't he specifically say southerners. They probably didn't appeciate Neil generalizing all of the south as racist.

Badmoon 12-04-2004 01:52 PM

I use to live in Southern Illinois, which is practically the South.
