Powerslave is my favorite Iron Maiden album.

-The Frank 09-11-2005 10:54 PM

for me its a toss up between killers and iron maiden
There could be someone who likes it...
It's so bad it's fun, I think.

the_uber_penguin 09-12-2005 05:59 AM

Out of the ones I have it's either SSOASS or BNW...no skip tracks on either (except perhaps The Nomad...but I think it kicks)

Lord Abortion 09-12-2005 05:59 AM

I'd skip the prophecy on SSOASS.

Killers skip tracks for me are ghengis Kahn, prodigal son and innocent exile.

Deth 09-12-2005 07:03 AM

I'm not a big fan of Running Free, though for some reason it gets stuck in my head.

-The Frank 09-12-2005 07:04 AM

^^^ catchy chourse

Lord Abortion 09-12-2005 07:06 AM

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of RF either...

-The Frank 09-12-2005 07:07 AM

i like running free.......great encore

Deth 09-12-2005 07:08 AM

I would be disappointed if they came back out with Running Free.

-The Frank 09-12-2005 07:08 AM

what do you have against running frer
anyway?

Deth 09-12-2005 07:11 AM

It's just the weakest track off the s/t and not all that great if you ask me.

-The Frank 09-12-2005 07:12 AM

strange world?

Lord Abortion 09-12-2005 07:13 AM
strange world?
The best track from it is strange world by far

Deth 09-12-2005 07:15 AM

Strange World is amazing.

-The Frank 09-12-2005 07:17 AM

meh, not one of my favorites

Lord Abortion 09-12-2005 07:20 AM

I love the song, it's one of the only tracks I'm totally happy with DiAnno's vocals...

-The Frank 09-12-2005 07:20 AM

i think that the whole iron maiden album is fantastic. im just saying out of all the songs strange world is my least favorite. im not saying its a crappy song, im just saying its not a song i worship.

-The Frank 09-12-2005 07:29 AM

Anyway, i have to go do some homework. To end on a high note, all i have to say is i do enjoy listening to strange world , but to me, if i had to choose my favorite track off that album, i wouldnt choose that song.

crag 09-12-2005 09:22 AM

humph, strange world is great

out of the s/t the only song i'm not fond of would be running free

GurS 09-12-2005 09:24 AM

if you replaced "running free" with "transylvania", you'd have my opinion right there.

So, what in you guys' opinion would be the top 15 essential Iron Maiden songs? I'm trying to make a list of songs (or albums) I plan to get, but I'm not sure I've got all the essentials a Maiden fangirl needs.

the_uber_penguin 09-12-2005 12:18 PM

I always used to be disappointed with Remember Tomorrow, until I saw Bruce do it at Reading a couple of weeks ago. Really opened my eyes to how great that song is.

The only weak track on the S/T for me is Remember Tomorrow. I love Running Free simply because it's SO much fun to play on the bass. Guitarists might be a little miffed at the lack of solos, but that's never been a problem for me :(

And Killers has no skipping tracks, although I do sometimes go through Prodigal Sun just because it's right before Purgatory and I want to get to it NOW
