A little late, But seriously...how rediculously petty minded can their "fans" be? Basically what they're saying is: "We don't like the music you're playing, so change it so we're happy. We know fine well it was your choice to create it but let's kick Bob Rock out instead".
As I said before if they were proper fans then they would respect the band's wishes to go on and create the music that they like. They might not like the music, but getting a fucking petition to get the band, who are known for doing as they please, to go back to their old sound is just unbelivably fucking moronic. |
that is almost the stupidist thing ive ever heard
you think they'll go on a farewell tour in 2007?!?! i guess we'll see
no they wont! they're going to be aerosmith and rolling stones, they're going to be rocking out on stage and have heart attacks when they're 80. the farewell tour will NOT be any sooner thatn 2010 |
metallica would be better if there songs werent so long
|
lol? one of the most things i like is, that metallica doesnt make just ****ty-3minute-music. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
|
Whats the deal the "the ecstasy of gold"?
Who is it originally by and how long have they been playing it before there concertS? |
Its originally by Ennio Morricone from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly soundtrack
|
Ennio Morricone's awesome.
|
I prefer Metallica doing what they want to do because that means they are true to themselves and not selling out to get their old fans (who are accusing them of selling out because they canged their music to MAYBE get new fans)
Very well said, man :thumb: |
^That doesn't make any sense, though. It's looking at the concept of selling out backwards, somewhat. Congratulating them for not selling out to get back their old fans is stupid, as they shouldn't (in the old fans eyes) have put themselves in a position where they lost the old fans in the first place.
|
here, its simple.
metallica made pretty average decent metal at a time when there werent that many popular metal bands. they rise to fame. they make a couple albums, bassist dies, they get sad, they get better, make a few more. then they get bored. so they widen the style based influnces. this new type of music is easier for them to write, so they make plenty of songs. people dont enjoy the new music as much, and accuse them of making songs just to make money and sell albums, they lose fans, they gain fans. st. anger once again they try something new. and once again people accuse them of selling out. heres a debate for you, which do u like more, load/reload? or st. anger? |
St anger is a million times better....
The riffs are better then length is better and they rock harder! |
Load/Reload because of Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, and Fuel.
|
Load/Reload because of Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, and Fuel.
Amen good sir. |
So umm, yeah you have to be pretty easily amused to like St. Anger.

This girl was telling me she like Metllica and all this ****, and was telling me her favorite song was about a snake...what?
Im a Metallica Fan from the 80s so I dont know what the **** shes talking about...does anyone else know what shes talking about? |
Yeah, she's talking about how girls don't know **** about good music.
|
she said it was a acoustic song...I almost possitive its not from the 80s!
|
Yeah, she's talking about how girls don't know **** about good music.
How very educated of you to say that. |
Sandtrap, heres my conclusion:
She saw the cover to the Black Album, saw the snake, and assumed there was an acoustic song about a snake on it. Or there might be a song about a snake out there I don't know. |
does anyone know what song shes talking bout?
|
Maybe she said "Mama Said" but you were a bit drunk and thought it was "snake" :thumb:
|
Get out of here Emo kid :p
I would like to know how my emoness is relevant here. |
Wouldnt she be talking about Slither... "Dont go looking for snakes you may find them..."
Although wot the hell are u doing talking to a girl about music, that just makes u want to head butt them... I got this one skank that come round and keeps asking me to play "Metallica - Under my bed" after a few minutes of wtf are talking about i work out she wants Sandman... Girls are good for one thing, its just to bad they dont often enough think im good for the same thing... |

"Don't tread on me"? maybe thats the song, but im not sure. I don't even know if thats even a song, or if its about a snake. I may as well have not posted this.
But about selling out, their old fans accused them of selling out because Metallica did not do what "they" wanted them to do (Do not incorporate soft music or even experiment with it). Metallica stayed true to themselves and left for softer rock, something they said they would do during MOP. Well, now if that fan wants them to come back to Metal and "un-sell out," well that just constitutes the definition of selling out again no?? (background info about how I'm grounding this) Selling Out (to me) is to do what the fans want you to do instead of listening to yourself. |

Metallica made decisions they wanted to make, not what their fans wanted them to make. reps to metal man above |
nvm, i'll rep you when i can again
