its a bunch of concerts to raise awareness for the poverty in africa
|
I don't even know what the hell it is.
Ha ha, shows how much america cares for world poverty. |
haha, i'm not watching at the moment.
Did anyone watch Johnathon Ross yesterdya ? Ricky Gervais is hilarious.
Yeah that was well funny  |
they put together this whole thing just to tell people that theirs poverty in africa, not to get money or anything. Kinda stupid if you ask me.
|
I see.

No its not, its being used to presure the G8 into cancling world debt. Theres a hugh demonstration being held in edinbough next week were its being held. And theres a big list thing to sign to get them to cancle it. Its not pointless or stupid. |
i think it just got told.
|
World poverty awareness doesn't need to be higher.
|
Razorlight are so awesome.

Its not pointless or stupid.
It's pretty stupid. It's just a concert with bands and artists who perform 4 songs each and then rant about poverty in third-world countries in between songs. I flicked over and saw Bono saying some crap like "9/10 (I can't remember the actual number) people die of malaria in Africa, we have the cure, we can give it to them". No, they are just playing music. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for stopping poverty. But is this really going to achieve it? |
I'm just back from Glasgow, and havent seen any of the Live8 coverage.
|
I don't really like Razorlight, but the frontman was pretty cool
'All you need is love, John Lennon said that, Music can change the world, Bono said that, sign the fucking petition, I said that' |
This thing was pretty pointless. Its a huge event that has been incredibly wasted.
As far as I know, they didnt charge anything for the tickets, apart from those that entered by text message. If they would have charged even a pound, thats 200,000 from one event. Then add up that money from the other concerts going on - waste of time |
I feel really guilty I'm eating a meatball foot-long from Subway.....
|
I dont think its pointless, and its makes for pretty good tv. Im off, bye.
|
I feel really guilty I'm eating a meatball foot-long from Subway.....
That sounds really good. But I'm trying not to eat meat. :( |
That sounds really good. But I'm trying not to eat meat. :(
Why not? |
Because I found out that your stomach doesn't digest meat. The meat sits and rots in your stomach for about a week until it's broken down enough to go into your intestines. :-X
I haven't eaten meat in almost 2 weeks. |
Meat is too nice not to eat. I couldnt go for a week without eating meat of some sort.
|
I really don't eat anything except meat.
|
It's not a waste.
It's to get the G8 members to allow more aid, cancel their debts etc... in third world countries.. There are 1 and a 1/2 million people in the Philly one !!! |
Well the point I was trying to get across, is that they have wasted this. It was a perfect time to get people to donate.
|
yeah, i know aht you mean.
I signed that online petition... |
I did too...
And Joss Stone is on, I dislike her. And Adam, It was £1 for the text for a ticket, so that money would have went to Live8, way more than 200,000 people texted in. |
I like her...
|
Big Willy is on.
..... |
In more ways than one Jamie
And Joss Stone is on, I dislike her.
 Are you freakin' serious?! |
haha, yeah.
That's the Philly show. I'm pretty bored now, amuse me. |
|
On the 7th of July, I fly from Prestwick Airport to London, but during the period from the 6th to the 8th, George W. Bush's secret service people will be at the airport.
|
haha, nice.
How big is the Astoria everyone ? |
I bought a huge Green Day poster today.
I really need something other than Green Day, and I have no idea Dan. |
haha, nice.
How big is the Astoria everyone ?
Suprisingly small, I saw MCR there, it was a **** good gig! |
I don't know whether i will go with my Dad or not, it's either that or not going.
|
Who you going to see?
|
Alkaline Trio.
|
yup, are they likely to swear a lot etc.. ?
|
Yes, seeing as Matt has a fondness for the word "fuck".
It won't be as bad as old school Blink though. |
Just for your information, if you're going with your Dad, he could sit in the seating upstairs for over 18's only if he dosen't wanna get in 'teh pit' ;)
MCR Pit + goth chicks = |
I'll see.
