but i unno i dont see why po searchs would slow it |
why would they be running ip searches anyway?
Sounds like you had an interesting day sic. I hate people who are that selvish and try to get everything for cheap when they can easily buy it at the normal price.
oh, you have no idea. the security guards are the worst. like vultures. 8:00 on the dot, there's atleast 4 of them that come in and try to tell us to make pizzas for them, so they can buy the whole thing for $6. or they'll come in at 6:30 and ask if we're selling them cheap yet, and i tell them "no, it's $3 a slice now. so unless you want to wait 90 minutes to save $2 on a slice pizza that's not even guaranteed to be made, go for it." idiots. on sunday, i'm going to spend a while perfecting the pizza toss, since it looks so cool. i've perfected the non-toss stretch technique, but tossing pizza dough is f'ucking awesome. |

I've always wanted to learn how to toss pizza dough, it's so cool. |
i've got the technique down, i just have to get it spinning faster and straighter. it takes a while i guess, but learning the non-toss technique gets you half way there.
anyways, i have a question for you guys. for my grad date, i'm bringing an "acquaintance" of mine. it's one of my close friends' close friend. the girl i'm bringing lives out of town, and she wanted to come to our grad, so i said i'd take her. now normally if she was my girlfriend, i'd pay for her. even if she went to our school and i asked her to go, i'd still pay. but the only reason i'm going with her is because she told her friend that she wanted to come to ours, and her friend told me. now i don't think i'm obliged to pay for her at all, neither do my male friends. but the female friends think i should still pay, since she's my "grad date". what do you think? (by the way, all together, it'd be around $250 for me to pay for her, plus the $250 i'm spending on myself) |
Well thats tough. I didn't think of paying for her at first but after I thought about it, the gentlemenly thing to do is pay for her. I would be rather rude if you just showed up and acted like a jerk to her.
|
for $250 i wouldnt even go myself!!:amaze:
|
well i'm not planning to be a jerk, but seriously. if i don't go with her, she can't come. the only reason she can come is because of me. like i said, in any normal situation, i'd do the gentlemanly thing and pay for her, but this is alot different. i've hung out with her 5 times, for about 2 hours at the most. she lives 3 hours away. it's not like she's been my best friend since kindergarten.
it's $125 for the limo, and then booze money, banquet money, food money, etc. i'm paying for the limo cost, my parents are paying the rest. |

If women want equal rights, they need to start carrying their own damn weight and paying for their own damn ****. Just my two cents. However, I've gotta better fight for you. http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?lang=en_GB&word1=Jehovah&word2=Lesbian Can you say, f*cking pwned? |
well then. I dunno I'd probally still do it since she, i'm just assuming, really wants to go. If your parents are going to help you out, why don't you help her out?
|
If you like her at all, pay, but if you don't even care, screw that. I'm pretty sure you don't care so, forget it, haha.

|
just got back from my first jazz gig in college....it was fun. I played set on two songs, and we did The Chicken for the last song (its a really smooth funk song) that one of the other drummers and my drum instructor both played on at the same time, and I rocked out on the congas. Man that was a blast.

I wish I had a bullet for every emo kid in the world...
Because then the only thing I'd be lacking in the world was a gun. |
Hi, cant remember if I've posted in this megathread before, but here goes.
Im 17 born and bred in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Moved to New Zealand 8 years ago (1997). Been heavily into music these past few years, my father is a truely classical guy, into Mozart, Liszt, Tchaikovsky... stuff from the romantic period. My mother likes in her own words "simple music"... examples include Cliff Richard, Westlife, The Eagles, The Beatles, Elton John, etc... The first music I liked in my truely rebellious years was heavy stuff... Metallica being the obvious heavy band that is the gateway to other things heavy. Bands through my heavy era would have been: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Blind Guardian, Dragonforce, Black Sabbath, Marilyn Manson (a bit of an exception), I could go on... Then came this forum, and a sudden though "Hey, Dream Theater... cool name... lets see what their like." And thus began the next era of my musical interest... I cannot give them enough praise, and I wont begin to because it will make boring reading along the lines of "OMG GREATEST BAND !!!11!!!!"... and that would of course appear pathetic. So yes. Dream Theater came along, followed by Liquid Tension Experiment, and a general broadening of bands i admired. Names like: Tool, U2, Guns n Roses, etc entered my listening circles. Also came a little band called Rush. Fronted in my eyes by the fantastacle Neil Peart. He entered me into new bands as well (Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Pink FLoyd... I was also getting interested in more influences of my parents: many of the above mentioned under their names, additionally Holst.). Enough listing band names... I am of course a drummer, being in MXDnP. I've played for 2 years in england, with a six year break, then just over 1 year in New Zealand. drumming influences can be seen in the above list. Josiah (MXer) has also helped me, providing me with a practice plan, and introducing me to Vanessa Carlton (not personally unfortunately). Very talented artist, and Abe Laboriel Jr. is a talented drummer by no means. At the moment I'm training to be an audio engineer at SAE Auckland... due to graduate July 2006 at this rate. Any other New Zealanders out there drop me an email to sutton-pratt@xtra.co.nz if you wanna chat. ISP_OF_DOOM |
A late welcome is in order me thinks :) Welcome

Hey guys, what is this thing called? The long bar on the side of the tom where the lugs screw into. I had one break on one of my older toms and need to get it replaced. This pic isn't of my tom, but you get the idea.
|
Thats the lug ;) The tension rods screw into the lug
|
Yeah it's the lug. The tension rod passes through the hoop, and screws into the lug. The lug is surrounded by the lug box, which comes in many different styles.
|
Ha ha....yeah uh, I knew that. I was just testing you guys, that's all. Good job.
/runs away |
