So crucify the ego before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Just let the light touch you and let the words spill thorough
Just let them pass right through, bringing out our hope and reason.
I love this part of Reflection.. a very strong ending lyrically for the song.

dUSK 07-08-2005 12:05 AM
And where did you here that? Please elaborate if possible. :)
Jake knows about it. I'm sure he'll elaborate when he sees this.

EDIT: I was a page behind and didn't realise
I love this part of Reflection.. a very strong ending lyrically for the song.
the guitar right after that is also very powerful, gives me goosebumbs, even playing it trying not to screw it up

Futuro 07-08-2005 01:45 AM

i think half of what makes "Reflection" so bad azz, is that repeating tribal tom pounding he does through the song, its very simple, but the note placement and the sound of his drums makes the song that much better for me.

on another note,
every one should "E-kickmyass" for not liking A perfect circle till' recently. Just got done with the cd 13th step, and am very glad to have boughten it. I like most of the songs alot, but one fault i have found in them, is that they're songs are too dam short

Huber 07-08-2005 01:53 AM

I'd E-kickyourass, but I used to dislike APC also.

centrum 07-08-2005 01:55 AM

If it is really morse code on the website. Which I would be inclined to think it is. It's hard telling what it is because it could be divided up to make a few different words. And I have actually been thinking that Blair has been giving hints about the album here and there for awhile. If I can find a particular one I will link it.

clearvision 07-08-2005 04:41 AM

Ermm there was the one what hinted to a mini tour with Isis, but that was months ago and still we have no werd.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-08-2005 04:47 AM

Still, nice that Blair finally made an official statement admitting he knows f-all.

Im getting more excited now, I know of very few bands who have performed the recording/writing process in such secrecy. Although I also agree with Blair's drug addiction link.

clearvision 07-08-2005 04:51 AM

He does know stuff, but is under contract not to say...

...that's what ig ot from that update.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-08-2005 04:56 AM

Im betting all he knows is how songs sound, and he's already tried to explain that a bit. I doubt he'll have ideas of deadlines/release dates or any information that would be useful.

Still, its good he keeps us in the specially designed outsider loop.

clearvision 07-08-2005 05:43 AM

Meh i hate bieng manipulated lol. In other news, I just listened to El Cielo by dredg, it was fantastic.

mygler 07-08-2005 05:43 AM

Can anyone repost the Ok show part one please

clearvision 07-08-2005 05:46 AM

I would, but my internet is so slow...part one is 700mb. Which would take about 8 hours.

the_Leperakorn 07-08-2005 07:53 AM

whats this about Blairs drug addiction link? I cant seem to find it. Or is it another crazy Tool in joke?

clearvision 07-08-2005 07:55 AM

He says something along the lines of....some tool fans need tool news like a junkie craves heroin...the significance of which i don't understand...but shh!

denboy 07-08-2005 10:03 AM

And water would be dry, if it wasnt so wet

Lateralias 07-08-2005 11:08 AM

I can sense some info coming soon, whether we here it from Blair or not. Seems like we should know about the dates soon.
And water would be dry, if it wasnt so wet
I'm so enlightened.

Esoteric_Creator 07-08-2005 11:31 AM

I've noticed that alot of people are try to associate TooL and devil whorship, and I have something to say about that.

Here's the thing. You have to be christian to believe in the devil, and non-christian is both Maynard and Danny (whom both willfully admit.)

Danny himself is a self-proclaimed esoteric student (or student of the occults) and Maynard is an independant thinker (the best way I can sum it up). It's not that either of them do not believe in God, but rather, not in the Christian God (point in case Maynards' lyrics in "Judith" by APC were he states, "**** your God!").

I can voutch for this being a student of the esoteric myself. It's not that I'm a devil whorshiper, or that I hate Jesus. It's that I believe that the Christian God is a creature that was created by men to keep the mindless masses in line. Jesus was a wonderful man who had knowledge in things that I think to this day people don't grasp. He wasn't preaching, but rather informing of the world around us.

Therefore the message of Tool themselves of "Think for Yourself. Question Authority."

I believe that what I have stated, the guys (maynard, danny, adam, and the other) would agree with me.

Nice first post. However, you'll find that most of us knew that and are already on your side.

Outstanding first post though. We get some good members with good first posts in here, don't we?

Moses 07-08-2005 11:38 AM

Because Tool fans are usually more intelligent.

NP:Mr. Bungle, Goodbye Sober Day.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-08-2005 11:38 AM

I think its because this thread is googled a bit, and people will actually read a fair bit of the early discussions.

Least he didnt quote the first post, as most tend to do. This was an intelligent comment

kurrpt 07-08-2005 11:39 AM

my new band as of yesterday ruled out ALL covers of TOoL songs :upset:

ima try to work in an APC song :thumb:

" ••• – •• – – • – –"
Is that morse code or something?

Its from the update...

Huber 07-08-2005 11:41 AM

I think it is. I haven't tried to decipher it though.

It spells stitem.. which means "fixed path" or something close. Wow we are desperate aren't we haha.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-08-2005 11:44 AM

Im really betting that he put that up as a joke, to see who could read deepest into it

Maybe there's a prize for the most implausible?
