Yep, i agree. Brave new world gave maiden a powerfull new direction. It sounded as fresh as ever. IT also gave them a chance to explore more in the next album. If they had released DOD first the next album would have less places they could explore. iT would end up sounding the same.

Yes. If I were asked to pick out my favourite tracks from DoD, I wouldn't have a problem: Title track, Paschendale, Journeyman, No More Lies, and Montesegur if pushed. On BNW, I wouldn't know where to start. All I can say is not the Nomad, even though it is a really good song.

Basically, the best songs on DoD are better then on BNW, but BNW is more consistently high quality.

To me BNW and DOD are equal, both have their ups and downs. Although if i had a gun to the head i would choose..............................nah i would just take the bullet

comparing albums is kinda stupid IMO because they are not the exact same style of music... album sounds always change, that's why they get different ratings no? Bands gotta stay fresh, and Iron Maiden IMO is hands down the BEST at keeping alive... I mean look... 25+ years and show no signs of slowing down! Keep rocking Maiden!

i saw Iron Maiden in Toronto this summer, christ were they ever good at putting on a show... i wish they made an album of it... they played songs from their first 4 albums and I wasn't disappointed with ANYthing played, though Mastodon opened and they weren't really that good.... their lead singer had a broken leg and looked like a viking lol... anyway so much energy at that concert... was anyone there? (Summer 2005@Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto).

I think it's good. They play some great tracks like. They open with "Aces High," which is awesome. And the rest of the first disc is pretty good, except for "Run to the Hills" and "Number of the Beast" where Bruce really sucked at singing. "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is the highlight of the album.

Then there's the second disc with it's five great songs. "Phantom of the Opera" being the highlight there. All in all...a good buy. :)

They are a band with amazing talent. Every cd they made is awesome. The best cds are Number of the Beast, Killers, Powerslave, Peice of Mind, and SSOASS.
Iron Maiden is also a great band live. The Rock in Rio concert is awesome and they were the best at ozzfest this year

I had that, and recently got the remastered version, and I preferred the sound of the original. Hasnt the original vinyl got the second disc on it though?
