The top 100 albums sounds like a good idea, providing it doesn't turn to idiocy like the top 100 metal bands that I ran last time.

Rock and metal is easier due to avoidance of what is metal versus not.

So you're suggesting that the list be about rock albums, which is a very broad term. Wouldn't that cause more arguments than metal?

It's pretty hard to argue whether or not something is Rock music.

Rock is distinct from classical is distinct from jazz is distinct from world etc

I think it would still cause more arguments as to what ends up on the list, considering the majority of the people that post in this forum listen to metal.

Rock covers almost all popular forms of music (in the West) since the 50's.
