man jim, that is an amazing deal. now you have the perfect ride for when you play Rush stuff.

Double Bass Jim 10-20-2005 07:18 PM

Yea! I always wanted to get one.

I havent got it yet though! I gotta go to GC tomorrow and check it out. My uncle said it was filthy but no damage at all on the cymbal.

poppinfresh 10-20-2005 07:24 PM

oh that should be a nice addition to the collection jim. I wish i could get osmething like that, but its ok i have a custom ride :D

Double Bass Jim 10-20-2005 07:26 PM

Hmm on that sabian video peart said he used the same one he picked up at the factory from sabian. I wonder if he ever even used a ping ride ever? I know they used to show it on his cymbal list.
How many rides is that now?
4 not counting the thin wuhan ride I use as a crash.

poppinfresh 10-20-2005 07:45 PM

does anyone know how to get the piezo out of the shell. I hate this dam nthing. I have the top all chipped off but i cant get the rest off.

Win A Rabbit 10-20-2005 08:11 PM

whoa that was weird. the real estate lady came over to drop off a keyless entry thing for our garage and show how to fix the door, and my parents just left, so she was showing me, and i think she was hitting on me...

she's like 25-ish, quite good looking, it was really weird.

well it was one of those "friendly, but a little too friendly" kind of things. like she walks in, says how she loves being in homes that she knows the plans to, and she likes seeing how people design them, etc. then she talks to me about what i do (drums, school, no job, etc) and she wants to see my room. she says it's dirty, but "what can you expect from a 17 year old" jokingly, all that stuff. it was just like she was being friendly at first, but it got progressively flirtier.

Deranged_Drummer15 10-20-2005 09:02 PM

Hey, has anyone seen the thread with the drum videos in it? The one with the guy playing the mario theme, and the drummer baby and all that stuff?

 You sure that's wise, boy? You're barely managing as it is, and I ain't expanding that closet that's for sure.

rockindrummer 10-20-2005 09:42 PM

Alright I bought some clear ambs over clear ambs to replace my old emps over stock combo on my toms. The problem would be that when I was taking off my old heads my some of the lugs kind of stuck and wouldn't unscrew smoothly. I was wondering should I lube em up? And how would I go about that.

Epiphender 10-20-2005 09:45 PM

What kit are you using? Maybe you just need to clean off some rust or something.

Alright my mind is shot. Nevermind, I have no idea. Yeah I'm using clear emps over stock too. Sounds good so I'm gonna keep it that way.

rockindrummer 10-20-2005 09:48 PM

^ Ya it was a good sound, but I wanted to try somthing new. Well i'm using a cheap concert set, not in make anymore, it was only like 300. I don't believe there is any rust, or atleast I can't see it. It isn't all the lugs either it is just a couple on each drum.

Epiphender 10-20-2005 10:16 PM

Well maybe try switching some of the t-rods around so you can isolate the problem rods/lugs.

rockindrummer 10-20-2005 10:51 PM

Ya I'll try that and see if it works, if not then i'll just put em on anyway. Thanks for your help epi.

Double Bass Jim 10-20-2005 10:53 PM

Haha I don't think I can resist eps, it's only 80 bucks too! :)

rockindrummer 10-20-2005 11:30 PM

Well I love the new sound of my clear amb over clear amb. Great deep but still open tone, no thud sounds there. I have really had a chance to play though as it is 1030 at night and my parents would get super pissed if I started to play. Although from a couple hits they sound great.

LoneStarDrummer 10-20-2005 11:40 PM

yeah you don't want to wake the parents with your drumming at night time.

not sure why, but people don't usually like being awakened by the sounds of drums.

rockindrummer 10-20-2005 11:48 PM

Ya being awoken by drums is never fun. Even I think it is annoying to be peacfully sleeping and then have this loud crash hit wake you up.

Tim 10-20-2005 11:50 PM
Ya being awoken by drums is never fun. Even I think it is annoying to be peacfully sleeping and then have this loud crash hit wake you up.
id rather have a crash hit wake me up than a china hit.

rockindrummer 10-20-2005 11:56 PM

^ Ya true but at the time it was a Z custom, on christmas moring too. I was so comfortable that I just kept sleeping till my bother was given premission to wake me up, he chose the cymbal.

Tim 10-20-2005 11:57 PM

haha, one of the loudest lines of cymbals you can get. it wasn't a projection crash was it?

rockindrummer 10-21-2005 12:14 AM

^ No, but it was a rock crash, it was very unpleasent.

haha forgotten. Me too but my bro doesn't play drums and would't be able to do one.

Double Bass Jim 10-21-2005 12:46 AM

Playin with the ole' hotrods testin out a mic postion, ever since I moved my uncles gear outta the loft the sound has been a little better. "Fuller" I suppose.

rockindrummer 10-21-2005 12:51 AM

Jim lots of audio coming out of ya recently. I've been enjoying every second of each of them. Great clip man.

Double Bass Jim 10-21-2005 12:57 AM

Danke man, been foolin with the ole room mics quite a bit! I been charged big time with these new cymbals, makes playing a bit more exciting with a new palette of sounds.
