That's cool Badmoon, I'd like to hear you play sometime. You're the only banjoist I know.

Woodstock 10-25-2004 03:49 PM
I assume its the last chord. Do you know what chord that is?

And for thou who said it....songwriting is so fun! I've written 40+ rock songs in the past 4 years entirely on my computer (full score and everything).

We need to do the same thing and share our music, see how classic rock influenced it is!
No, I can play more than the ending E.

I play the main chord sequence: G Bm Em Em7 C Em etc.

thickasabrick 10-25-2004 04:53 PM

i looked all around the city for a sitar that i can play, but no music stores have them and wouldnt order one it. i guess i need to find someone who owns one.

BludgeonySteve 10-25-2004 05:11 PM

I intend t learn to play harmonica, mandolin and slide guitar. Then I can form a blue-grass band and move to Texas yall.

Or, no. But I am learning those instruments.

Broken Arrow 10-25-2004 05:11 PM

Last time I said I like them, and I still like them. One of my dad's favorite bands.

thickasabrick 10-25-2004 05:35 PM

I've never heard of the Zombies...any info?

RockAndRoll 10-25-2004 07:28 PM

Harmonica is not usually used in Bluegrass, but Rusted Root use it in their Bluegrass songs.

RockAndRoll 10-25-2004 07:38 PM

You know who's good.....

Procol Harum

MalcolmYoungRock 10-25-2004 07:45 PM
You guys should download some stuff from Wilco. They are an Alt (loosely concerning early days) Country band. And are from Chicago!
Badmoon'd  '

But anyway...

I missed a lot.

Jet stole a lot of riffs and lyrics.

The Darkness/ Franz Ferdinand are NOT bringing back classsic rock.

Teenagers are :p

I'd like to read your essay on The Grateful Dead whenever you write it Badmoon

gmoneyguy 10-25-2004 07:47 PM

I don't even bother anymore.

drugstore cowboy 10-25-2004 07:57 PM

Agreed Rock. Procol Harum is good. And thank you for bringing it up, they're going on my album list =p It's getting bigger, but I haven't gotten off my *** and bought anything yet.

We skipped the light fandango...=p

RockAndRoll 10-25-2004 08:00 PM

Wow, someone else here actually knows who they are! yay!

BludgeonySteve 10-25-2004 08:36 PM

I've heard Conquistador now. Twas very good :thumb:

BillCosby 10-25-2004 09:00 PM

So, I saw Paul McCartney and Neil Young saturday...

Not to mention Tony Bennett, RHCP, Ben Harper, Sonic Youth, and Los Lonely Boys.

All acoustic, over 8 hours. Fucking great.
Surprisingly, Tony Bennett got the most applause, and was the only one to do an encore.

I only drove for almost 7 hours to get there and stayed two nights in a hotel.

Only a 40 dollar lawn ticket though, that was good.
I forgot, Eddie Vedder was a special guest.

rock_drummer 10-25-2004 10:28 PM

best classic band in me opinion are......

U2!!!!!! Most influencial band ever.

Seafroggys 10-25-2004 11:11 PM
The last chord is probably not an 'actual' chord, just a made up one for the sake of getting that dissonant sound they wanted.
No, its an E Major chord. There is no dissanense whatssoever.

E Major was also the chord during the 17'th/18th century that represented heaven. An interesting thought in case any of you didn't know.

clown_phobia 10-26-2004 02:30 AM

e major is a way overused chord.

Creedence Clearwater 10-26-2004 03:02 AM
e major is a way overused chord.
only when played open, I reckon going from G to Cadd9 is way overused.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 10-26-2004 03:09 AM

Yeah, everyone's getting into them now because they listen to "Jet" and they think "wowzorz dis is teh gr8 moosikzorz /me wil listen 2 sum oda rock n rool."

Now all we need is a band to do that to metal music!

StreetlightRock 10-26-2004 03:17 AM

^ i LOVE Cadd9!! It was like my first chord progession i made up when i first started play guitar, somehting like G, Cadd9 then some strange D and E.

Besides. Wonderwall had Cadd9 in it. :p

DVG.

I will accept it only it is your barreing G and then hammer the cadd9 barre in third position, I suppuse that sounds cool.

magicbus 10-26-2004 01:03 PM

Yea The Zombies are sweet. Download "Time of Season", bad *** keyboard solo. I'm making a "garage band" mix, with like Velvet Underground, The Beatles, The Stooges, MC5, stuff like that. (Just gritty stuff from the 60's) Any other song suggestions?

I'm gettin GTA today. I love it. Don't care what anyone else thinks. :D

I also have guitar lessons tonight, but I'm working with scales now, not chords. Just finished all the modes and I'm working with harmonic and melodic minor scales today.

That's it! :thumb:
