The X-Factor is an amazing album, people just don't like the Blaze albums because they are ignorant fools who need their ears torn off.
This is true. I used to be this way until I heard Sign Of The Cross and I was converted. I picked up the X-Factor a few days ago, and it looks like it will be one of my favorite Maiden albums. Check the avatar.

ashman 12-28-2005 09:44 PM

X-Factor = Amazing compared to other albums, but it didn't have that 'Maiden' feel. I still put it in the top ten

Deth 12-28-2005 09:47 PM

Top 10 Maiden albums? That could be pretty low.

ashman 12-28-2005 10:02 PM
Top 10 Maiden albums? That could be pretty low.
Maybe 6 or 7.

SSOASS being 1!

Hawkwind 12-28-2005 10:22 PM

I have to say, i wasnt that impressed with DOD. There were a couple of good ones in there e.g. the title track. But it definetly wasnt as good as Brave New World or the classic Maiden Albums.

A great band, could have done slightly better on this one, especially with wildest dreams. Im looking forward to the next album - apparently a concept album, hopefully its as good as Seventh Son OF A Seventh Son
To be honest. I quite like some of Blaze's stuff. I prefer Bruce singing his songs like Futureal and Sign Of The Cross. But he's better than he gets credit for.
Blaze's Futureal>>>>Bruce's Futureal

shamed-angel 12-29-2005 06:11 AM
Yeah, BNW, Piece of mind, SSOASS and X-factor.
They would be the four I would get next.
X-Factor is awful. The Angel And The Gambler is the worst song they ever wrote. Easily their worst album.

EDIT: Oh. I'm thinking of Virtual XI. Which really sucks.

Lord Abortion 12-29-2005 07:09 AM

It's better than No prayer or FOTD...

Actually The song NPFTD is growing on me, I quite like it now.

Oh man that would kick ass

X-Factor's an ok album. Not their best but not bad.

Virtual XI kicks ass and The Angel And The Gambler is one of the best blaze songs IMO

one of the better songs on NPFTD IMO
Blaze's Futureal>>>>Bruce's Futureal
Actually, vocally I have to agree. Bruce is definitly awesome, but Blaze's voice fits the song increadably well. But then again, the version of Brucec singing Futureal that I saw involved Bruce, Steve Harris, and Adrian Smith fighting a giant Eddie puppet, so you've got to give that one props.

FOTD is great IMO. It has Afraid To Shoot Strangers (Really fun guitar melody to play) Childhoods End, Wasting Love, Judas Be My Guide though the bad songs are awful, namely The Apparition. NPFTD is a mediocre album.

Thats my least fvorite live album. Bruce sounds terrrible on the first 4 songs. Be quick or be dead was terrible.

Holy crap. Don't mess with Blaze. Wow. That bloke'd be shitting himself with Blaze and Steve calling him out like that.

Bruce just wasnt really into the FOTD tour 100%, at least blaze gave it his all every show.

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 07:12 AM

Yeah, Blaze was really into it.
He was grateful to be in the band, I would suspect.

A downward spiral of making bad albums, if you looked at both blaze albums you see that blaze did actually help in writing a few songs. He made it fresh again.

very true, the 2 albums before Blaze were my least favourites then came X-Factor and Maiden went back up:)

-The Frank 12-30-2005 07:32 AM

Yeah, It seemed to.
I wonder how it would have gone if They had continued with him though?
He sorted himself out and accustomed himself to touring?

I can see a couple of the BNW songs being sung by him, certainly.
The Mercanary, I think would be one, maybe blood brothers too.
