I think that if cliff hadnt died the band would have been alot better as everyone seems to say that their earlier stuff was the best the only difference in the band from puppets to ajfa was newsted and cliff.

Chu 02-28-2005 09:55 PM

Definately.
I sort of feel, Kirk is replicable, Cliff was irraplacable, thus if Kirk and Cliff had never swapped seats, Metallica would be different...

Well if they had a different driver Metallica would be different too now wouldn't they? Or if it was a bigger bus with more bunks?

_xxBLACKENEDxx_ 02-28-2005 09:56 PM

RTL and MOP were tight albums, but i still think that ajfa kicked ***. Maybe its just the first metallica album i ever got into

Ok your right. Now can you comment on the other stuff you said that everyone flamed?

Burningjesus 02-28-2005 10:01 PM

Who here absolutely hates punk music and punks!

_xxBLACKENEDxx_ 02-28-2005 10:02 PM

I do. I ****in hate green day. there is no talent whatsoever.

I know you both are noobs, but I'm sure I'm not alone in saying this

QUIT IT

You guys aren't thinking at all. You don't just say some band has no talent. How do you think they got a record deal? How do you think they've been this popular for so long? They obviously have something that people like. And as for the rest of punk, I don't like it but it's not bad. It's not as skillful as music like metal, but that's what punk is. It's easy chord progressions and cool lyrics. Saying that punkies and green day have no talent is complete bull shit.

Just so you know, this is NOT the only thread in the forum. It would be greatly appreciated if you spared the Metallica thread of your ignorant posts. ESPECIALLY THOSE NOT REGARDING METALLICA.

that's not true. have you heard any punk??? and no, i don't think they are good, but they have to have some talent to get a record deal. you're doing a terrible job at proving your point, noob.

Trying to get off topic won't help you. Learn to think, logically, before you post.

Mine's Fade to Black

vashts80 02-28-2005 10:26 PM

Hey, Burningjesus, take a look at your band Metallica. Know how they were thrash at the beginning? Know where they got that attitude? PUNK. Thrash metal is punk attitude and speed mixed with rock elements, IIRC. Step off your high horse and stop thinking that Green Day and Good Charlotte are the epitomy (SP?) of punk, douche.

Joe 02-28-2005 10:27 PM

Yes you are. jk

FlyingPaul_83 02-28-2005 10:47 PM

I don't think you're a weirdo, i like that song a lot. My favorite metallica song is probably creeping death

p0ul 02-28-2005 10:59 PM

everytime i hear metallica i have a diffrent favorite, so i cant just pick one, ya know
so many god-like riffs and solo's and just the whole flow of the songs, ive listened to metallica for 12 out of the 20 years of my life and everytime i listen its still awe-inspiring and almost unexplainable how they make such masterpieces.

-**** that was long!

clown_phobia 03-01-2005 01:01 AM

Some of my favourite songs at the moment: (note I haven't heard many of their albums)

Ride the lightning
for whom the bell tolls
master of puppets
enter sandman
sad but true

opeth_oasis 03-01-2005 01:35 AM

fav song=ride the lightning

appreciate_it 03-01-2005 02:32 AM

Hit The Lights, Unforgiven, Fade, sanatarium.

thelittledrummerboy 03-01-2005 04:04 AM

I don't think that Sad but True is all that heavy. It's a good song and all but on S&M and Cunning Stunts they say they'll play something heavy and on comes sbt. I don't understand it. By the way i think S&M kicks A$$

Fav Songs:
One
Outlawtorn
Puppets
Creeping Death
Nothing else matters

I thinks its pretty much impossible to pick ONE song! They are all just so awesome, from the drum solos/Bass solos, to the kick *** guitar solos (Excluding ST Anger as there are no guitar solos) of course....

I find the songs that have the most meaning to be are:

Fade to Black
Sanitarium
One
Holier Than Thou

But as far as my favourite songs go:

The thing that should not be
Harvester of Sorrow
The struggle within
Battery
Master of puppetz
Fixxxer
53rd and 3rd (Unreleased)
and Fuel

Greenday and Good Charlotte are not the epitomy of punk at all.
They have the wrong attitde and the wrong sound.
Both are classed as pop punk because their sound borrows an awful lot from the pop genre.

If you want to know about Punk, then talk to Dboon's Ghost.
