For me trying to learn to finger pick with a full hand is so hard. I want to just use my thumb index and middle fingers but for classical guitar you need to use your whole hand. Hard. |
how much rep do you need for stars?

It is for me to. I'd like to be able to fingerpick like classical players can. |

Yeah that is a good comparison, it may set you back a while, but it will make you a much more coordinated and well rounded player. |

Ive tried that before...and failed...so i gave up. Its so much easier I can only fingerpick when the riff im playing is too fast. I havent done it for a while, but i might try to learn the trees by rush to get back into it |
I finger pick on acoustic only. Electric always sounds weird to me, fingerpicked.

Flamenco picking is so much worse as far as I'm concerned. Playing tremolo with your 4 fingers and the bass part with your thumb is just impossible :upset: |
Well i had to use my electric, since the acoustic i have is over 20 years old, and its hard enough to play as it is (too much action)
|
I can only finger pick one song. Othertimes it can get hard. Thanks for all the rep.

Ive always wanted to learn the doors - spanish caravan. That crazy intro is sweet.

My guitar player fingerpicks in some of our songs, and he uses a line selector to send the low end to one amp, and the mids/highs to another amp on the opposite side of my kit. Sounds really cool. |

Never figured out what a line selector did. |

Heh, no problem on my part. R&M looks after it's own :) |

Yea I figured I should hang here more. But I'm mostly in the Classic Rock thread, and that's R&M, so its all good. |
Never figured out what a line selector did.
Basically, a line selector allows you to send your guitar signal to two or more amps. You can have one amp with a certain effect on it, split your signal based on eq, or do the classic left side/right side stereo switchoff. You can do alot more than that to, it really is a cool thing to have. But you do need at least two amps. |
Ok. I only have one, but that'd be fun to try out.

Try the song Krisiun - Diableros. It sounds like flamenco on steriods, speed, crack, estacy, and everything else out there. It's also acoustic so no need to worry about uberbr00tality. |
