Hmm.

Check out 2112, Hemispheres, A Farewell To Kings, Signals from their earlier work.

Roll The Bones, Counterparts, Test For Echo from their later work.

Also the Different Stages live album is SUBLIME.
Im so in love with In Absentia at the moment. its been on my MP3 player for a record of 7 days now.

Wedding Nails is awesome, but I could say that about any track. That one just sticks in the mind at the moment.
Wedding Nails is the instrumental one yeah...

If so I love that one too VERY much so, and Trains of course, that song owns.

And Blackest Eyes.

And the rest...

(Shit this thread is fast)

Rush:
Moving Pictures, 2112, Hemispheres are all GREAT albums. My dad was/is a complete Rush lover so we have a huge amount of Rush vinyl

Check out Vapor Trails if you want a more "modern" sound from them.

Recommended songs:
2112
Hemispheres
(Both great long songs)
Red Barchetta
YYZ
Bastille Day

Correctomundo.

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 03:48 PM

Refl, I am a fellow Rush geek

:chug:

Huber 08-02-2005 03:49 PM

Rush is the only other Prog Rock band I like a lot.

Refl 08-02-2005 03:50 PM

More Rush fans is good.

Mr Herb 08-02-2005 03:52 PM

rush pwns.

dam there much to say about tool :(

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 03:53 PM

Hell yeah!

We can form a little Rush cult, and meet together in secret every week in a cave somewhere and discuss the deep hidden meanings of Rush's music while listening to it on an old record player, because we're that tr00.

But then again, we could always not.
:shifty:

EDIT: Yeah, I think it was Jake who said it best a few pages ago "It's more a community thread for people who like Tool"

Shame that there's so little information on them from Blair (****, but in a nice way). The last real clue we got was that MAYBE Buzzo was gonna be on the record, and that was last week or earlier...

Huber 08-02-2005 03:54 PM

That'd be nice, but I think I'd choose the later and stick with the intraweb.

Refl 08-02-2005 03:55 PM

My DT fanboyness has overtaken my Rush geekness these days. :D

Even after Octavarium? (which wasnt THAT bad, but still)

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 03:57 PM

I'm very much liking your taste in music Refl, first Rush now DT too (and Tool obviously)?

Woo!

*is going to see them in London October 24th*
Even after Octavarium? (which wasnt THAT bad, but still)
I liked Octavarium... :upset:

Mr Herb 08-02-2005 03:57 PM

Dt bores me sept for 2 or 3 of their songs

Rothmans 08-02-2005 03:59 PM

Rush use to do it for me but something about them nowadays.

I never really liked DT only glass prison which is still class.

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 04:00 PM

I can understand that, sometimes they do put technicality over songwriting (which is the reason I assume you find them boring) but personally I feel it fits, MOST of the time

Glass Prison seems to be the song that even non DT fans enjoy, and DT fans LOVE TO BITS.
Been playing it non stop on the RG7321 that's in the guitar shop I did work exp in.

I'm going on the 25th.

Hoping for a good cover album.

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 04:02 PM
No just james Labrie.
Hehe, forgot that one too :p

Refl: That's what sorta put me off the 25th, if it was an album I wasn't familiar with then I wouldn't get the same, so I opted for 3 hours of pure DT :D

Modship would be enough for me.
SO does anyone in here listen to neurosis?
Yes!
I have The Eye Of Every Storm, great album there. Find it's quite good to chill out to... in a strange way

Good thread you did on them a while back too.

Anyone that messes with James LaBrie, messes with me.

I'm going to the 25th because the setlist will be more alternative and less played songs than the night before.

And im praying they will play Moving Pictures.

Don't get me wrong, I like LaBrie and think his voice fits the music perfectly, but I know that a lot of people have a problem with him.

Moving Pictures... That would be sweet...
I'm guessing you have the DT covers of Red Barchetta and YYZ?

Rothmans 08-02-2005 04:07 PM

Try to get enemy of the sun for heavy music I would upload but I am in england so cant.

The eye of every storm for most mellow and progiest.

Mr Benners 08-02-2005 04:08 PM

Rothmans, is Enemy of the Sun quite a bit heavier/faster than TEOES?
Might have to look into that one...

clearvision 08-02-2005 04:10 PM

Hey is there a new Tool song out? My friend called me up the other day and told me that he heard a new Tool song on the radio, he is a huge Tool fan so he has heard all of their songs. Have any of you guys heard it, if so what do you think of it.

Theyre not gd quality, that's one of the minuses of bootlegged tracks.
