Go to a career center. I failed so many grades in regular school, I had no choice i had to go. It was great though, You have 1 class, then they have you drive to work. thats it.

I was in the Auto Prgram, so i went to school for like 2 hours, then went to work. Definetly check them out.
We've got something that at my school, kind of.
You take an Int. to Occupations course, and then the next year you stay for 3 periods of the major classes, get on a bus and go to a college and learn about a career path and work in it.
I was going to do it for graphic design, but I needed to take band, so I couldn't.

And Jesus.
Were you like the 18 year old in 10th grade back in the day?

i always thought high school class rings were dumb. what is there to be proud of, anyone can graduate HS, you don't even have to try. plus if you go to college your not going to want to wear that dumb 'ol thing. college is a place to forget about the dumb stuff you did in HS and move on, not carry around some ring from the past, a past that doesn't even matter in the real world.

Brokensticks 10-20-2005 05:02 PM

LicketySplit I got you some rep for that :thumb: Thanks a lot!

I agree I never thought of a purpose for a class ring, although different things mean different things for everyone. If that makes sense.

Drum Phil 10-20-2005 05:19 PM

What is a class ring?

I dont understand the american education system. Over here we have school (age 4 till 16) college (16-18 unless you take a year out) University (18-whatever dependin on course)

Only school is compulsory. I failed my first year of college doing advanced physics, advanced chemistry and advanced biology

spike9908 10-20-2005 05:24 PM

basically high school is your college and our college is your uni.

class ring is a ring that is utterly pointless that says what year your graduated highschool.

Drum Phil 10-20-2005 05:26 PM

Ta for that :D I get it now. No one ever bothered to explain it before

Janeway 10-20-2005 05:37 PM

Class rings are only pointless when you just got a normal state diploma.
I'm getting a Regents with Music Honors, which I did work for, and I'm going to immortilize that in a $400 hunk of 14k gold.
Plus, it's a tradition.
My gradnparents had one, my parents had one, my sister got one, and I'm damn well getting one too.

Aaron 10-20-2005 05:45 PM

Win A Rabbit 10-20-2005 06:00 PM

well i was like 90% sleeping, having my routine after school nap, and these kids come ringing my doorbell, asking if i want to donate money to their soccer team. god i was pissed. so i tried napping afterwards, and i couldn't get to sleep. like come on, who just donates money to some 15 year old kids "on a soccer team" ???

The Fiction We Live 10-20-2005 06:15 PM

Last time my friend open the door after school it was these kids that hated him... and needless to say he got hit in the head with one of those stone lawn rabbits.

Win A Rabbit 10-20-2005 06:39 PM

In Canada, we have elementary school for grades kindergarten to grade 7. Kindergarten is the year before grade one where you only go to school for half a day. Before kindergarten you can also go to preschool where you do little kid crap. Anyways after grade 7 you go to highschool untill grade 12. After grade 12 you either go to college or unitversity. Lots of people go to college first and then university. Thats how it works here.

Plan B. 10-20-2005 07:02 PM

Score!

How many rides is that now?

Get pics of your cymbals Jim.
