You guys should download some stuff from Wilco. They are an Alt (loosely concerning early days) Country band. And are from Chicago!

Little off topic ...

Do you listen to GDradio.net?

Badmoon 10-24-2004 05:57 PM

I've heard some stuff off of it I believe, on my friend's computer though.

BludgeonySteve 10-24-2004 06:03 PM

Since we're off topic this is a good time to congradulate Medopalis on his 100th post in this thread. He's now a regular :)

Badmoon, do you like my new avatar? ;)

Badmoon 10-24-2004 06:06 PM

Woodstock 10-24-2004 06:18 PM
Jet's "Rollover DJ" is very similar to the Guess Who's "Takin' Care of Business"...and also the name is 'similar' to Mr. Berry's song..

Speaking of school anthems, our team name is the St. Mary's Thunder. So guess which song we get to listen to?..at every sporting event..and every assembly...on every announcements...over, and over, and over again...
Uhh, I'm pretty sure Bachman Turner Ovedrive wrote Takin' Care of Business.

Badmoon 10-24-2004 06:22 PM
Thanks guys...and I'm looking forward to getting into much more classic rock now that I've been exposed to, and liked, the Grateful Dead.
Good.

I'm thinking about writing up an essay stating why The Grateful Dead are better than any band anyone can name.

BludgeonySteve 10-24-2004 06:25 PM

I would be interested to hear your urguemetns, examples and supporting statements.

But don't post it on mx or else you will get alot of "Lol liek metlica ledz zepoil r teh beter lol" posts.

Badmoon 10-24-2004 06:33 PM

Yea, of course it will be mostly opinion, but they covered a lot of ground, and I've heard tons to make a great argument.

Badmoon 10-24-2004 06:34 PM

Everyone into the chat!

BludgeonySteve 10-24-2004 07:01 PM

Badmoon 10-24-2004 07:37 PM

RockAndRoll 10-24-2004 07:38 PM
Too bad wuss!

Uhh, I'm pretty sure Bachman Turner Ovedrive wrote Takin' Care of Business.
arg, i knew that, i really did.. :upset:

magicbus 10-24-2004 08:56 PM

I want to learn (more) piano, harmonica, sitar, slide guitar, and I think thats it. I don't feel like commenting on anything else, except I'll check out the polls.

Badmoon 10-24-2004 09:04 PM

Well, good luck. Sitar is such a lifestyle, and so hard to find lessons.

And I consider myself okay at slide. Well, more so than the other's I know.

magicbus 10-24-2004 09:27 PM

Yea I've fooled around with a bottleneck slide, and I'm gettin the hang of it, but I wanna try pedal slide too.

ALSO. Anybody listen to The Zombies?

thickasabrick 10-24-2004 09:54 PM

i have a slide, although i have really learned any good songs on it other than In My Time of Dying. it sounds so sloppy when i play it though.

i would kill for a sitar

and i have a harmonica, although its weird and it doesnt have a certain key so i cant play it the way the internet tries to tell me.

Seafroggys 10-24-2004 10:44 PM
I can play A Day In The Life on piano.
I assume its the last chord. Do you know what chord that is?

And for thou who said it....songwriting is so fun! I've written 40+ rock songs in the past 4 years entirely on my computer (full score and everything).

We need to do the same thing and share our music, see how classic rock influenced it is!

RockAndRoll 10-25-2004 03:05 PM

The last chord is probably not an 'actual' chord, just a made up one for the sake of getting that dissonant sound they wanted.

Time of the Seasons...

Badmoon how's that banjo fingerpicking coming along?

gmoneyguy 10-25-2004 03:07 PM

I love to make up chords on guitar (as far as I know anyways).

I'm getting some harmonicas this week from Musician's Friend.

I play slide guitar...

Badmoon 10-25-2004 03:21 PM
Badmoon how's that banjo fingerpicking coming along?
Tough, but progressivley good. I need a new thunmb pick, but I have came along with my metal finger picks.

Speaking of Slide Guitar, I learned Statesboro Blues a while back. Took me a long time :)

San Andreas comes out today :D

gmoneyguy 10-25-2004 03:29 PM

GTA is overrated. I always get bored with it.

Badmoon 10-25-2004 03:33 PM
GTA is overrated. I always get bored with it.
gmoneyguy 10-25-2004 03:35 PM
