Jaundice 01-02-2010 04:05 PM

yeah but everybody else fellates it

Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead both got their names from it or something like that

Jaundice 01-02-2010 04:09 PM

Radiohead got their name from a talking heads song and said that Remain In Light has the most significant influence on their sound

NIN used the backwards N in a reference to the album cover

I figured it'd be easier to bend the truth than state all of this

Jaundice 01-02-2010 04:19 PM

nah i need to get on that

Nepenthe 01-02-2010 04:24 PM

think im going to get depeche mode, killing joke, and the cassandra complex

Meatplow 01-02-2010 04:27 PM

Killing Joke is good, haven't listened extensively to Depeche Mode and have never heard of The Cassandra Complex

everytime I look into this genre I discover 10 new bands though

Nepenthe 01-02-2010 04:29 PM

ive heard like 4 songs from depeche mode and they seem to be about the closest thing to the sound i was looking for

Jaundice 01-02-2010 04:30 PM

i always thought Depech Mode was a code name for The Cure

FatalEnergy 01-02-2010 08:12 PM

Killing Joke's first album is really good. I haven't heard anything else by them though.

Nepenthe 01-03-2010 02:45 AM

hell yeah

heilwert song

Aaron 01-03-2010 03:47 PM

Been really digging mashup stuff. I know that there's a lot of terrible stuff out there, but yeah; get on Girl Talk and Super Mash Bros.

Jaundice 01-03-2010 03:54 PM

pink and yellow makes the illest mash ups

Aaron 01-03-2010 03:57 PM

lol. Man, you should see some of the stuff I'm DJing. Boyd-Rice and Boston being played at the same time. ****ing heilworthy. I'm thinking of going by the name DJ **** You Hipster Scum.

Meatplow 01-03-2010 04:48 PM

my mashups sort of suck not gonna lie

candlemass in one ear and blondie in the other

Aaron 01-03-2010 04:52 PM

Heart of BROKEN GLASS

Jaundice 01-03-2010 04:55 PM

my mash ups are sweet

who doesn't want to listen to Donovan's Mellow Yellow played backwards on top of the drum beat from a Jay Z song

Aaron 01-03-2010 04:55 PM

Who doesn't want to listen to Il Divo and Meshuggah at the same time. I know I do.

Jaundice 01-03-2010 04:57 PM

http://www.box.net/shared/tynlpntclt

i don't remember if i ever showed you guys the Yellow Without Pink mash-up

made from brass and string arrangements from old pop songs , about the death of pink and yellow

Aaron 01-03-2010 09:49 PM

Is P&Y dead?

Jaundice 01-03-2010 09:57 PM

not officially but i worked out some sort of concept about P&Y actually being two people and there being a bit of a falling out

A solo Yellow release is theoretically possible

Aaron 01-03-2010 09:58 PM

Sounds nuttier than that Catfight On A Hotdog ****.

Meatplow 01-03-2010 09:59 PM

just got a copy of The Boyd Rice Experience's Hatesville in the mail.

i've decided to start buying CD's again

Aaron 01-03-2010 09:59 PM

Is that the super crazy one with the yellow cover?

Meatplow 01-03-2010 10:02 PM

the original had black and white hot rod style artwork, the re-release is in a full colour. looks pretty snazzy
