Was this with Manifest?
This was with 4th Mind.
But for last night our bands name was Harley and the Harlots.

Our lead guiarist could only stick around for 5 or so songs anyway. So we got another mate (Manifest bass player) up there to play for the some other songs.

But it was such a last minute thing. I found out about it on wednesday night, and our practise consisted of nothing more than writing down a list of songs that most of us knew kind of okay enough to wing on the night.
And it worked.

How are you anyway? On holidays yet?

Diatonic Dissonance™ 12-09-2005 08:50 PM

Yo Chris, why'd you change your avatar back?

Trigger_003 12-09-2005 11:44 PM

Sounds like great fun.

I've been on holidays for a week or two now... been banned from msn for the whole time so far... heh.

/has had emails asking if I'm still alive

But yeah, it doesn't feel like holidays; I've got over 70 sheets of music to learn just for trombone, plus all this work to get ready for next year, some web design work
... plus writing essays for Mx :upset:

airborne50caliber 12-10-2005 03:45 AM

No way, aes has the legendary man back in place.

I've got so much work over christmas.. but then I getta go to Rome for a week.

Wondered why I hadn't seen you on MSN for a while.
heh.

This is some of the web stuff I've been working on:
http://www.dropbear.net/ea/index.htm

At the moment it is pretty much just a shell.
But I've been working on how to get the site to display different sections of the site in different colours. css stuff.
And the breadcrumbs and nav bar are dynamically built using dreamweaver parameters.

We're looking for a launch date on this site of mid Jan 06.

moaner 12-10-2005 05:25 AM

A government website eh?

Could you stick in some secret messgaes to fuel some conspiracy theories?

change the text on the "australia" symbol so that it reads "blame our scientists"

man, you could get upt o some mischief.

Aes820 12-10-2005 07:14 AM

Ahh, but you see, i like having a job. I'd rather keep it.

I don't like those three coloured dot things.
They look ugly, glad to say I'm not the one who designed 'em.
But I'm gonna have to consider taking them out or at least moving them elsewhere.

moaner 12-10-2005 07:25 AM

I like having money, but the job I have i don't love so much.

There's much worse, and much better. that's life I guess.

Trigger_003 12-10-2005 02:42 PM

Ah, but Aes loves his job.
Wondered why I hadn't seen you on MSN for a while.

My mates were just stuffing around with some rumours about my mate and I, and my parents overheard (having a dad as a teacher at your school really doesn't help sometimes). They got all worried because that guy's a bit older. I've told them there's nothing going on but they don't seem to believe me .

I agree about the dots on the site. Particularly the ones in the top right corner.
Also, the background for tsunami assist isn't too obvious at the moment compared to the others...

why, how old are you? They should know you're a sensible kid and they can trust you to look after yourself anyway.

Or so I assume.

Trigger_003 12-10-2005 07:07 PM

16
They trust quite a lot - they're just really, really over-protective when it comes to this kind of stuff. It sucks.

Anyway, what've you been up to lately?

moaner 12-10-2005 07:29 PM

For nice people like you i have links to myspace accounts iwth musical projects

<edited out>

/will edit that out tomorrow, don't want everyone to know it, just you guys in here

My rep thingy is broken.

"Error: reputation is not defined"

Diatonic Dissonance™ 12-11-2005 10:42 PM

Hey Chris.

Hey Trea.

Sup with you two?

Aes820 12-11-2005 11:55 PM

Gidday.
I'm working.. Working hard.

Feeling sorry for those three confused newbie uni chicks.
I just got a mystifying email from one of them, and had to clarify it with a phone call.

But for those who don't know: My work just got a few uni students in as kind of a transition from study into work kind of deal. And they've been thrown right in the deep end. Poor kids.
They are all really pretty girls as well.

Trigger_003 12-12-2005 12:06 AM

Thanks for the thought anyway Chris... someone over in the Aussie forum was saying the rep system was down.
I just got a mystifying email from one of them...

Better than guys playing footy in them shorts?
Haha, sorry, Moaner comment right there.

I was swimming and now I'm back to sitting around aimlessly listening to music in true holiday style.

Haha, I was looking up a Melb. band called Airbourne and somehow got onto a recording that's a bit of a fusion work mixed with Metallica's One and that old jazz standard, Take 5... anyone interested?

Diatonic Dissonance™ 12-12-2005 02:10 AM

*raises hand*

I played a piano concert on Friday night.

moaner 12-12-2005 02:33 AM

This morning I was violently sick. That means "I vomited violently", for those among you who talk distorted english.

i should have my chemistry practical exam today so i may have to soldier in in a little while. Guess i just see how i'm feeling.

Us skips usually just say something like "Tossed your cookies", or "Parked the tiger", or sometimes just a simple old "Had a yak".

Diatonic Dissonance™ 12-12-2005 03:35 AM

Do we? :-/

Trigger_003 12-12-2005 03:40 AM

That one does... :p
Poor Moaner :(. Hope you're feeling better/go well with your exam

How'd your concert go Gav? What'd you play?
Here's that song... it's not as amazing as it was made out to be. More an acoustic version of One that gradually progresses into an interesting version of Take 5, but hey, it's okay.

I played Kerin Bailey's reflection and Chopin's Nocturne In Gm (37/1).

'Twas good. I got great comments like "expert control of dynamics" and "rubato rivalled only by the pros" :p.

What have you been up to? Get back on MSN .

KKKKKocaine 12-12-2005 07:41 AM

AES and Trigger
Do you have any idea how to make the search function in php-nuke...useful?

I'm using it for the venue listing, so an example venue might be

Country: UK
County: West Yorkshire
Location: Leeds

Venue Name : Josephs Well
Band Size: Medium , Large

Address: 87 whatever blah blah blah

Comments: e.t.c.

Now with the current search I can only bring that file up provided the keywords I type in follow each other immeadiately and in that order on the same line.
So 'Leeds West Yorkshire' = Nothing
'West Yorkshire Medium' brings up nothing.

Which pretty much ruins it for me as I really need the user to be able to do a search like.

'UK West Yorkshire Leeds Medium'
So they get all venues suited to medium sized bands within leeds in west yorkshire UK.
The PHP-nuke homesite search can handle this but mine can't.
I downloaded a couple of insite google searches but the first one didn't explain how to install it and the second worked but apparantly I was in breach of googles terms of service so it gave me an error page.
Any ideas?

moaner 12-12-2005 08:17 AM

I was sick during the exam and on the way home.

I'm going back to bed. :(

Do you get to retake it when you're better?

moaner 12-12-2005 01:27 PM

no, but apparently I didn't make enough mistakes to lose any marks.

Just then I went for a slash but when i pressed the flush button my eyes blanked out and i felt hot and dizzy so i sat on the floor where it was colder and calmed down.

If that happens again I'm seeing a doctor.

Cheer up kid because,

A. You could've fallen, hit your head on the toilet bowl and been knocked unconcious on the floor with your weiner in your hand.

B. Band-101 is about 1 day off release, (Even less if I get the search function sorted) When it's ready I'll need you to resubmit your review into the php-nuke area of the site if that's ok, as you'll need to put in the html for your paypal account for donations. (Plus if you submit it to the site rather than me, then you get points in your account which brings you closer to being entitled to 'band of the week' inwhich your contributions are rewarded with a link to your bands site, or music site with a description and a streaming mp3 of one of your tracks on the main page for 1 week)

Moaner: I just blacked out...
Moaners Dad: Of course you did son, sit down, let's have a little chat.

I've avoided my parents having a 'little chat' with me due to the fact that my mum went through one of my desk drawers a few days ago looking for a nail clipper.
The same drawer that happens to have 76 condoms in, numerous packets of flavoured lubricant and some latex gloves.. :smoke:
B. W00t, i actually have a project as well. I have songs, y'know...
I just opened the stat analyser for the website  in the last two days I've accessed the site about 3000+ times :P and I'm not even gonna bother working out what the other 30+ tables means.
There's a pie chart though, which is always reassuring.

I'm also worried as hell, I keep on checking the bandwidth useage, at the moment I can spare 3Gigs a day. So far I've used about 10mb just by myself hehe.

Edit: 7000 posts

Aes820 12-12-2005 03:31 PM

I'm sorry KKKKK, but I'll be little help when it comes to php.
Trea may be able to help out tho.

Trigger_003 12-12-2005 03:54 PM

That'll die down once you get everything up and running though.

I've never actually used php-nuke, but I do have an understanding of this stuff, so I've got a few ideas... I'll have to write them up later though because my power's going off in 5 minutes.
Btw, what version?
One of my mates should know if I can't work it out... I'll see what I can do.

Gav: Nice stuff :D
I've been doing... nothing. Besides jams, rehearsals, studying for next year... the usual. Man I need msn!

:/

Doesn't seem like you can do it without actually going in and modifying the script. Since I don't have it myself, I can't tell you what specific lines to change to what, or even test the supposed fixes that people have created, so there's a bit of a problem there.

If you want to, you could try this:
Go to the modules directory and see how many pages there are relating to the search modules. If there are only 2 or so, maybe I can have a look through them (all the variables are going to relate to ones used on other pages though, so I still might not be able to do anything there...).
Probably the easiest way is to get them to me through here and edit it out later, or you could create a temp. account where I can access all that stuff directly through the site if that was okay with you (I can't really email at the moment).

I've asked around, so hopefully we can get an answer pretty soon anyway.

Aes820 12-15-2005 03:51 AM

I am still working on the asp stuff tho.

How is everyone?

Still got some things to iron out, like I need to fix some of the links from the Band 101 articles. And then play with the colours for the forum and then just bomb the Venue database with as many venues as I can. :)

It's alright now :) I just swapped to Mambo instead and tinkered with it.

Trigger_003 12-15-2005 07:40 PM

Cool, Mambo's supposed to be a lot better :).

I'm good. I had a 5 hour jam the other day, I'm starting to get into working with Flash, and I've really gotta try one of these pie-in-a-bun things Simon (Aussie forum) keeps talking about.

Chris, if you still don't have a definite drummer, there's been an offer in the Aussie Musician Directory for you... in case you hadn't seen it.
