Yes, on topic.

I read sometime ago that someone made patches. I would like to try that in the break. Rude Boy patches here I come, anywho. What was the material you used?

I've heard many people use canvas type fabric, which is the type of fabric I'll use when I finally get around to making patches. I'm pretty sure that's what most bought patches are made from as well.

Thank you but I was truly asking what he made the stencils out of.

I guess I didn't really word it correctly. Oh well.

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 05:38 PM

Stencils? I think one person said thick cardboard-ish paper if you are printing it from the computer, otherwise go for a thicker cardboard. I made my stencils from a cheezit (cracker) box.

Now thats DIY right there my brother.

TheNowhereman42 03-22-2005 05:39 PM

you go to local shows and buy patched for like a buck then spray paint over them

Roanoke is full of metalcore/hardcore bands.

I don't want metalcore bands on my suit.

TheNowhereman42 03-22-2005 05:40 PM

Laminate the picture, then cut the stencil out of that. It's easier than thick cardboard, and holds its shape better than thin construction paper.

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 05:43 PM

Laminate works too, I used duct tape on mine, because that's what I had available. I lost that stencil though.
are you Jesus??
he is.
You sir, haven't tried Rave 4.
that's where it's at, man. that stuff works wonders. and it doesn't flake for like two or three weeks.

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 07:02 PM

Hair glue sucks for hawks, at least it did for mine. It made the tips too heavy and it would droop to the side and I'd look like a cocktoo with erectile disfunction.

cheeser_1 03-22-2005 07:07 PM
I'd look like a cocktoo with erectile disfunction.
isn't that what you're going for, though?

dkm4life010 03-22-2005 07:15 PM

on the subject of sticking up hawks, we have this hair-cut place by us called mastercuts who makes hair sculpting glue. i bought some and made a hawk for fun and it worked great but i dont know if you guys have mastercuts...

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 07:16 PM

I have pills for it now :upset:

Do the shoulders have little buttoned strips, like for holding bags or hats? If it does, put some on there, maybe on the collar, and around the back maybe.

AndreTheHyena 03-22-2005 07:27 PM

You dudes need to save your paychecks and buy leather jackets (or faux leather for you nowheremen amongst us).

Become a welder

TheNowhereman42 03-22-2005 08:05 PM

I make a lot of shirts using transfers and a press.
You dudes need to save your paychecks and buy leather jackets (or faux leather for you nowheremen amongst us).
I like leather jackets and all, but my jacket was only like $8 because it was on clearance. There was a really nice motorcycle leather jacket at the thirft store, but it was way too small. No fat people get rid of their clothes.

Why would a white man love Rasta?

Anywho, up with the haircuts down with the hawks!

Brain Toad 03-22-2005 09:26 PM

I have a canadian patch on my jacket, but it's not the planet smashers.

Coma_Girl 03-22-2005 09:27 PM
You dudes need to save your paychecks and buy leather jackets (or faux leather for you nowheremen amongst us).
I wish I had gotten fake leather. I got my jacket and painted it before I went vegan, so I can't sell it or anything like that.
Oh well, just gonna wear it as long as I can anyway.

AndreTheHyena 03-22-2005 09:31 PM

Yeah, don't fret if it's already bought. That annoys me. Freeganism rocks.

SantaDuJuan 03-22-2005 09:31 PM

I did that. But then again I really don't regret it. Wearing it and then watching a PETA video made me realize how fat I looked in it.

(joke)

However fake leather isn't really that good sept for shoes and belts etc. But I certianly wouldn't wear it as a jacket.

xxGumbyxx 03-22-2005 09:54 PM

Someone has probably already asked this but:

where can I get some leopard print fabric to sew on collars, make patches out of, etc?

I tried Joann's. No luck.

cheeser_1 03-22-2005 10:15 PM
Someone has probably already asked this but:

it's really a five step process:

1) find a leopard
2) fight it (if you die, skip to step five)
3) skin it
4) do what you will with the leopard skins
5) you wind up dead at some point.
