Once you get your license, there is a small period of time when it is really exciting and you go for long drives all the time for no reason. Then you realise that cars cost money, and all your friends start making you designated dave. That's when it starts to turn into a chore. :(

Meanwhile, I wish you guys were online when I am. It's like I'm talking to myself on the internet... as well as when I'm alone in a dark room, with my scented candles. That is where I plan my domination of MX, and then the world. And you, Parannoid... you will be at my right-hand side! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!11111111

/bored, and unstable from an overload of uni assignments.

Bartender 09-12-2004 10:53 PM

I'm online. It's 5:48am though.

Riva 09-12-2004 10:56 PM

Yay! But it's 2.51pm here...

Whoa! Second "first-post-on-a-page" in a row!

What shall we talk about?

Bartender 09-12-2004 10:57 PM

That's what you get for being in Australia.

Riva 09-12-2004 10:58 PM

More like, that's what you get for being in England.... :p

What are your plans for today?

Bartender 09-12-2004 11:02 PM

Well my sister got back from Florida this morning (bringing me a CD with her, which was nice), and she's going to school tomorrow. She's getting a lift in from my mam to help her get all her books and her guitar and things back into school, after the summer holidays. I've left school now, but I've got a pile of history books that need taking back, so I'm gonna take the lift in too.

I figured since I probably wouldn't go to bed til 5 or 6am anyway (and they're leaving at 7:15), I may as well just stay up all the way through.

So, in a couple of hours, I'm going back into school for about 20 minutes, then getting the bus back home, and hopefully going to sleep. And that's all I've got so far.

You?

Riva 09-12-2004 11:06 PM

I just come home from uni, and my brain aches.

I'm thinking about making myself a sandwich, and maybe doing a module of chemistry on the internet.

And this arvo at 5, I'm going in to see my dad in the hospital. He had to go in for surgery on his hands on Friday, and he was really groggy Friday morning, so I'm gonna talk to him when he's more with it.

Bartender 09-12-2004 11:09 PM

Sounds like a plan. Why'd he need surgery on his hands?

Riva 09-12-2004 11:19 PM

My parents are divorced, and he lives on a property up in the Tablelands; a pretty rural area that sits just past a mountain range about a two hour drive from my house. It's where most of the dairy farmers are. Anyway, he has a windmill that drives a filtration system for the creek that runs through his land. And late Thursday arvo, he noticed that it wasn't working, so he inspected it and found the cogs that drove it had dislodged. By the way, my dad thinks he is invincible :p so he decides to go and re-align the gears while they are still moving!

So anyway, his hand slips, and gets crushed between two of the cogs. On a reaction, he pulls his hand out, and nearly overbalances and falls backward off the two metre high platform where the gears are. So he reacts again and instinctively reaches out with his undamaged hand for something to halt his fall. His hand found the gears, and he crushed his right hand as well. So now he has the sense to pull his hands out slowly, climb down, and walk to his neighbours up the road.

It turns out the gears broke all of his fingers bar one index finger, and the thumbs. Plus they tore off the pinky of his left hand. So during surgery they had to remove two more of his fingers, because they were too broken to repair, and the rest are in casts, which could take two months to heal.

So now he has two fingers on his left hand, and four broken on his right. Other than that he's okay.

Bartender 09-12-2004 11:21 PM

Ouch.

Riva 09-12-2004 11:27 PM

Nah, he'll be fine. He once swerved to miss a drunk driver, hit a light pole, flipped his ute and broke his neck. And that was out bush, so he had to wait for two hours for someone else to drive by.

What do you study at uni, Bartender?

Bartender 09-12-2004 11:37 PM

Fair enough. Well good luck to him, anyway.

I haven't actually started Uni yet, but I think I'm going down there this Saturday/Sunday. I'll be studying philosophy, once I get settled in and everything. What do you study?

Riva 09-12-2004 11:58 PM

Molecular Bio-chemistry. So pretty much what you'll be doing... :p

Paranoidd 09-13-2004 12:29 AM

You school people make me want to go back :upset:

I'm going to take audio engineering. Be a producer. Only thing I'm remotely good at.

Riva 09-13-2004 12:33 AM

What job do you do now?

Paranoidd 09-13-2004 01:13 AM

Paranoidd 09-13-2004 08:36 AM

Kingofdudes 09-13-2004 08:37 AM

gmoneyguy 09-13-2004 08:37 AM

Paranoidd 09-13-2004 08:40 AM

Bartender 09-13-2004 09:49 AM

My dad's still in Florida. I'm not sure why, he just decided to stay an extra week and send the others back.

Hello everyone, by the way.

Kingofdudes 09-13-2004 10:04 AM

I dont think florida will be hit too bad, it looks like it is gonna hit the mississippi-louisiana area mostly.

Paranoidd 09-13-2004 10:06 AM

mediocrity666 09-13-2004 02:28 PM

I dunno about everyone else, but me and my family are going to texas tomorrow. No school for a week is gonna be kickass. But living in a hotel isnt.

I hope none of the windows break while im gone, ill be pissed if my crap gets stolen.

superpeer 09-13-2004 02:37 PM

I think I'm gonna wrap up some more CD reviews.

Riva 09-13-2004 04:06 PM

Don't you guys have basements where you can go when there's a cyclone?

Up here, even when it's a catergory four or five, we just go under the house, and hole up with mattresses against the door, etc. And with enough warning, we can pack all our valuables etc, in the other room under my house.

iliketoplaydrums10111 09-13-2004 04:08 PM

^^Yea, but Indiana gets a few bad storms, but nothing really serious with tornadoes

My basement pwns

Riva 09-13-2004 04:10 PM

What's in it?

Kingofdudes 09-13-2004 04:13 PM

Dont got a basement, and I only live 10 miles most away from the beach so we would get a lot of crap. Besides, its gonna be gay without power.

Riva 09-13-2004 04:19 PM

Yeah, losing power sucks. And cause our electricity company is a government subsidary, they are really bad at setting up power grids and restoring power. It's really annoying when they get the shops and businesses up and running almost immeadiately, but can't seem to fix the suburbs until a week has gone by.

And did you mean you were 10 miles from the beach? Yeah it sucks, cos I'm 6 kms from the coast, but the rest of town is spread out between me and the beach. So the cyclone will destroy them before it ever comes close to me. :thumb:

Kingofdudes 09-13-2004 04:22 PM

So Australia gets Hurricanes?

Riva 09-13-2004 04:26 PM

Yeah, but we call them cyclones. We get about 7 forming a year, during the summer (your winter), but only 3 or so cross the coastline.

Kingofdudes 09-13-2004 04:29 PM

Oh, I just learned more than I do in a weeks worth of school.

Speaking of which, no school for a week + more. This is gonna be great, but not as great as when we got hit by Isabel in VA.

superpeer 09-13-2004 04:43 PM

We never get hurricanes, storms, tornados or heavy earthquakes here. :)

Riva 09-13-2004 04:48 PM

Yeah, but I'm sure there's an asteroid out there with your name on it... :p

Kingofdudes 09-13-2004 04:50 PM

That would be awesome to get on tape.

Riva 09-13-2004 04:51 PM

Yeah, we should ask Jelle if he can film any asteroids that come crashing into Belgium.

sHaZaM11 09-13-2004 05:07 PM

heh heh..asteroids...belgium...BAM! <--that would be crazy on film!
