most people that listen to slipknot are pubecent(sp??) boys trying to vent anger...i for one liked them cuz they were crazy hard, but since vol. 3 theyve changed alot....i still like them but now for entirly different reasons

I dont think slipknot's songs would sound anywhere as good as original unless you have few drummers, a guitarist, and some crazy vocalist.

I can play a few but have no recording gear.

Joey isn't that hard to cover. Just build some stamina.

Corey is hard to cover.

At my drummers bday party, him and me started playing Duality...
Just a guitar and drums.
Then he stopped halfway through cause he got tired...

I did NOT like Vol. 3...(dont flame me for this) but i think they really sold out on this one. They had a unique sound going for them, and they completely changed it so they could get more fans.

I personally think their S/T one was the best...it was the most original at the time.

Did I miss the interview where they admitted to changing their style because they want more fans? Because as far as we can tell, they could have changed it because they were tired of old stuff. :thumb:

I dont think the masks really go with the music now though...a guy with a death mask singing to an acoustic song just doesnt feel right :lol:

I think Vol.3 is the best album. Why? It's just a much more altogether balanced effort. If anything I think they have concentrated the sound, not abandoned it.

Well they abandoned the sounds they got out of the first two albums, thats for sure. Vol. 3 was much more laid back than Iowa and less creepy than Slipknot.

Hmm well the profanity isn't there in the new stuff, but it still sounds like Slipknot to me.

Who cares about profanity? I could care less if bands cuss or not. Sometimes if bands cuss too much, it makes them seem rather immature at times.

But any of those guys, doing Slipknot, without the masks, wouldn't feel right either.

The fact that the song is acoustic shouldn't change anything. The fact that he's not screaming f[color=white]u[/color]ck you shouldn't change anything.

Well it featured quite heavily in their previous work, that's all. I'm not bothered either way by it personally but I can understand this fuelling the people who say that they sold out.

not really a major slipknot fan, but saw them live when they were touring with slayer. awesome gig.... heretic anthem was the song of the night imo. ;)

All im saying is that i dont like their new direction as much.

They did most of them actually. They didnt do a whole lot from the first cd though except for (sic), wait and bleed, and surfacing. They played more from Sub. verses and Iowa They did all the slow songs from the new one too. The best concert ive ever been to...up until this year's ozzfest

They played Liberate, Spit It Out, and Get This as well off of the S/T one.

dont remember liberate. Then again it was probably a dif. show than mine. Where was yours?

my calculas teacher who is a total metal head was telling me about how last year he went and saw slipknot with his son, and the son bought some wrist bands that said Slipknot on them. Then he wore them to his middle school and the lunch lady yelled at him and went to the principal and got him suspended for wearing "distasteful" things. Then my teacher went in and yelled at the principal and totaly defended his son and slipknot, i just thought that was totaly badass and should share that
