One of my friends goes to USF, and PGroove is like his favorite band. I'm pretty sure he was at those shows.

I pray to god he was. It was seriously spectacular.

Sean, thanks alot for the Dispatch, it's really really kick ass. On a side note, does anybody have any tea Leaf Green studio albums? They're near impossible to find online. I'll up something in return. I got some moe, some Disco Biscuits, alot of stuff.

Lunch 08-21-2007 01:46 PM

Yea, he's seen them like 10 times so I'm sure he wouldn't miss them anytime they're around.

I don't have any TLG albums, I have a couple shows though. One I haven't listened to yet, but 2006-4-7 is pretty insane.

Necrovore 08-21-2007 02:47 PM

Are Colour Haze considered a "jam" band?

Any fans of Railroad Earth in here? I've heard a lot about them and finally decided to check out a show from archive, and these guys are great. Really excellent jamgrass/roots/whatever you want to call it, sort of sounds like older String Cheese.
Anyway, check it out:

Also, thanks to dub sean, I decided to look into some STS 9 shows as well. This one is excellent quality (I think it's an AUD too...really outstanding work by the taper) and these guys are amazing live:

Saw STS9 a few weeks ago, it was unbelievable

Doctor D. 10-11-2007 08:38 AM

The show was amazing. I think the best I've seen from them(which isn't that many, compared to most of the fans there).

The shows that are comin around me are ridiculous:

October 12 & 13 Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Papa Grows Funk
October 17 & 18 Medeski, Martin and Wood
November 2nd Karl Desnon Jazz Trio
Plus a smallish festival in November, it's in the panhandle, but you guys should check it,

Lunch 11-29-2007 01:08 AM

dude, you better. would be funny if we finally met each other at Langerado instead of the 9:30 club or some shi

dub sean 11-30-2007 11:49 AM

Where is it?
I know I
m seeing bisco on December 27.
Does anyone have any other Bisco albums other than Senor Boombox or Wind at Four to Fly?

Lunch 11-30-2007 01:53 PM

No, check out their Millenium show 12-31-99 on archive though. The play for like six hours, lots of insane jams. I've never seen them, which is part of the reason I want to catch Langerado so much.

I'm seeing Umphrey's tomorrow (they're doing a free acoustic show at the local Borders, then their standard show at the Michigan Theater across the street), then DSO on December 29th I think.

It's in South Florida, details here : http://www.langerado.com

And yes, I've got They Missed The Perfume and the two earlier releases. I'll try to post up as many as I can.

And the shows that are comin around me are insaaaaaaane. Next week I get P-Groove twice again. Then Galatic in January, plus WEEN in Febuary. Then Langerado.

Too good.

dub sean 12-01-2007 10:26 AM

yo i don't have ANY pGroove at ALL.
and if you get those Bisco albums up I will love your forever (and rep you into oblivion!)

and I dunno about the Landerado, seems like a stretch for me.

ATM 12-01-2007 10:28 AM

I'm pretty sure I'm coming. Trying to convince my girl :D

Doctor D. 12-11-2007 02:19 PM

Saw Perpetual Groove again this past Friday, always an amazing show. Sean, I will get at least one of those Bisco albums up, sorry about the waiting.

Oh, and for anybody whose keeping tabs on angerado, Soundtribe just got added for a late night show.

EDIT: Heres a killer P-Groove show I caught in August

http://www.archive.org/details/pgroove2007-08-18.flac16

dub sean 12-12-2007 11:19 AM

hey as long as they're up eventually, I'm happy...I know I'm probably annoying asking for all the albums...
and I'm checkin out that Pgroove show right now

Lunch 12-12-2007 02:24 PM

STS9 solidifies that I'm going

Gonads 12-12-2007 02:47 PM

Is Primus considered a jam band?

dub sean 12-17-2007 04:46 PM

no, they are metal..

Doctor D. 12-17-2007 06:38 PM

Well, I'd say they're more of a jam band now then they've ever been. They're not really metal, it's more alt. metal, if anything. And for almost the last decade, they've extend their songs with improvisational jamming. I'd consider them sort of a jam band.

Oh, and heres Disco Biscuits Uncivilized Area

Greyboy Allstars all the way!

I've been listening to The Greyboy Allstars a lot lately. Their music is wonderfully playful at times, and smooth and mysterious at times. If you don't know of them they have music on many motion picture soundtracks including "Zero Effect" and "Get Shorty" -- also Elgin Park (one of the members) did scores to such cult favorite films as "Me and You and Everyone We Know" and "Donnie Darko". They are on tour right now. Go here for more info: http://www.greyboyallstars.com/tour.php
