Iris 10-30-2004 08:53 PM

I've known about this band for a while, and I've listened to all of the songs on their purevolume page, but I forgot to include Ghostship Part 4.

Tomahawk 10-31-2004 04:37 AM

I'm really digging Prince right now. Purple Rain yo.

Prince is the man.

The Ashtray Girl 10-31-2004 04:40 AM

I'm digging Green Day in a major way. The new album is a nifty bit of songwriting if you ask me.

Tangy zizzle 10-31-2004 04:47 AM

Purple Rain is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. Get it in ya', jus' get it iiinnn ya.

Tangy zizzle 10-31-2004 04:57 AM

Just listened to the entire Hot Snakes discography while doing a tourism assignment. How cool are these guys?

Can anyone say "this much Tangy!" ?

Tangy zizzle 10-31-2004 04:58 AM
I got their self-titled, reviewed it too. :-* I haven't heard the demo yet though(except for Ghostship Part 4, which is awesome). I'm really surprised a lot of people haven't heard them yet.

*cough*Tangy*cough*
I can't download those tracks. Do you have to sign up or summin'?

Ornery Cephalopod 10-31-2004 06:06 AM

I finally got around to re-downloading Lumen's album The Man Felt an Iron Hand Grab Him by the Hair, at the Nape. Not One Hand, a Hundred Hands Seized Him, Each by the Hair, and Tore Him Head to Foot, the Way You Tear Up a Sheet of Paper, into Hundreds of Little Pieces earlier. Good stuff, post-rock centered on acoustic geetar.

OrbDragon 10-31-2004 06:55 AM

Ben Harpers - Live From Mars

I don't like all the songs as much...but the standout songs are REALLY standout.

I'm also digging:

Bob Log III
The Cramps
Nick cave & The Bad Seeds\
Elbow
Sarah Blasko
RX Bandits
Dead Moon (this is something you might like Tangy)

Tapeworm 10-31-2004 07:28 AM

I heard a Dead Moon song and it was horrible, it sounded like it was some kids messing around. (maybe it was).

Sarah Blasko!!! Yeahhhh.

Happymeal 10-31-2004 07:30 AM
I can't download those tracks. Do you have to sign up or summin'?
Just click on "Downloadable Songs" on that page. You should be able to get all 3 there.

Hm, my friend said Lost In Translation's OST good, so I'm checking that out. So far I'm liking Too Young by Phoenix.

Tapeworm 10-31-2004 08:14 AM

That soundtrack is awesome.

Luxor 10-31-2004 12:00 PM

I'm listening to "The Lonesome Crowded West" right now, so good.

Iris 10-31-2004 02:41 PM

Iris 10-31-2004 02:47 PM

Me too, I love Elliott Smith. I tried to find an avatar of him but everything I find is way to big :upset:

crazyGUITARnDRUMgal 10-31-2004 03:09 PM

PJ Harvey. ive always had her cd's i just got back into the flow of listening to them again recently.

Luxor 10-31-2004 03:29 PM
Me too, I love Elliott Smith. I tried to find an avatar of him but everything I find is way to big :upset:
Then resize it. You don't actually think my avatar was that small to begin with do you?

Iris 10-31-2004 04:38 PM

How did you get it that small without it going all blurry and such?

Luxor 10-31-2004 05:19 PM

I downloaded "Mihov Image Resizer". I dunno, I searched "res-sizing images" on goodle and it came up.

incubliss 11-03-2004 05:43 PM

some new albums i've been listening too, AND digging.

Kings of Leon - Aha Shake Heartbreak.

one reason being, it's completely different to the Youth and Young Manhood, and it's just great. it's not bad in anyway, and my favourite songs would be Razz, Kings of the Rodeo and Soft so far. this is with only a few listens mind, more listens to come.

The Bronx - The Bronx

what can i say? this is just so fun. simplistic (in a good way) but still i find it enthralling music. the whole album, is just short, fast and furious, it's brilliant.

The Bees - Free The Bees

my god, is this album heavenly or what? it reminds me of 60's bands, all rolled into one. Beach Boys, Beatles, you name it, it's in there. perfect summer chill album, nothing can go wrong with this album, or these guys.

The Futureheads - The Futureheads

ahh, i love this stuff. the vocals espcially. you can hear that 'Byker Grove' accent flowing in the vocals. this album is just so fun, ahhh.

The (International) Noise Conspiracy - Armed Love

my favourite album so far os October, and for a long time. it mixes everything, and brings it all together so amazingly. i just can't get over how fun, and easy to get into this music is, it really is a gift. songs like Black Mask, and Lets Make History, just brimming with greatness. can't get enough of this stuff.

Incubus - The Odyssey

my jesus, have you heard these songs? they're from the Halo 2 soundtrack, and they kick some ***. it's the 4 part rock opera, first part called Follow, the riff is very vai esque i find. i've only heard snippets of 3 of the 4 songs, but i'm eagerly awaiting this game to come out now, just for the soundtrack, which i'll be buying.

Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley

just pure noise, i love it. it's a total contrast to the other stuff i've been digging lately, but i just love Space Cadet. that's the one song i'd love to learn on guitar if i could play that is.

i can't think what else i've been listening to lately, but this is the brunt of it really. i'm just rambling on now, but that's the basis of my music taste this past few weeks.

Happymeal 11-03-2004 05:46 PM

New Incubus:eek: Must check that out.
