Stars of the Lid is pure bliss, love them so much. I haven't listen to The Dead Texan in forever, they seriously put one of the best live shows EVER but that's mostly because of their visual work, it's amazing.

Tara is less catchy but more intense. |
Tara is ****ing fast
good album |
Anything I've heard from Absu has been solid. You know what you're going to get; they only do one thing. But at least they do it well.
|
ive pretty much been in perpetual search of that since souvenirs d'un autre monde came out. theres really nothing like it, the closest youll get is good shoegaze like ride or my bloody valentine. the daysleepers would probably be your best bet, particularly the soft attack ep. on the more black metal side try looking into altar of plagues' white tomb, fen's malediction fields, and falls of rauros' hail wind and hewn oak.
|
white tomb is infinite times superior to sol (and sol is great), so if you liked it at all definitely get white tomb. its a masterpiece, best album of the year id say.
but yeah, the daysleeper's soft attack ep and fen's malediction fields are the ones id go for first |
I only have Slayer's God Hates Us All and I've been listening quite a bit the past few days. I'd like to know which Slayer albums most resemble this one.
|
Might as well listen to Slipknot. Seriously, that's their KERRY KING JUST DISCOVERED SLIPKNOT album. Also probably their worst. So uh, go for albums from around the same era. Basically anything put out by Roadrunner around 2000-2002.
|
Well yeah, I hate just about every solo Kerry King plays with a passion, but they have some cool moments on that album.
Anyway, never mind. |
I'm just being serious, that album is largely based around Kerry's growing obsession with Slipknot.
