Mofo, G, sometimes called the 'people's key,' is one of the most frequently-employed keys across classical and popular music.

gaslight 11-20-2008 04:09 AM

If he'd have raised you one sharp it would have been C major plays G major, but for now it'll have to wait.

 at G major vs E minor. Well, not  as such, but in theory.

radtaste 11-20-2008 04:26 AM

Raised seventh \m/

gaslight 11-20-2008 04:31 AM

The major scale already has a raised seventh :p.

radtaste 11-20-2008 04:37 AM

Isn't it just a major seventh in that case?

*doesn't remember his theory

gaslight 11-20-2008 04:42 AM

Pretty much. A minor seventh is actually a "natural" seventh. So a major seventh is a raised seventh.

radtaste 11-20-2008 04:47 AM

*Brain explodes.

horseypie 11-20-2008 04:57 AM

D Minor I always find is the saddest of all keys really

and yeah ima smash you radtaste mo****a

gaslight 11-20-2008 05:00 AM

It's not too bad really. You couldn't possibly raise a major seventh any further because then it would be the tonic.

big80smullet 11-20-2008 05:20 AM

ima go ionian on your arse

gaslight 11-20-2008 05:27 AM

Haha. Much love for the major scale in this thread apparently.

It is disturbing that I can not even remember what we were to battle for.
What's your beef with theory/jazz?
nothing haha. I did 11 years of violin though so im pretty much avoiding it like the plague by playing drums.

big80smullet 11-20-2008 05:52 AM

dude aaron we need to start making musics and incorporating violin.

maybe you could do some meg white type deal while you play violin

Aaron 11-20-2008 05:55 AM

i'd be happy to do meg white in the name of science

i havent played violin since i left study at the conservatorium

big80smullet 11-20-2008 05:58 AM

no i mean you play a really simple drum beat with your feets and play violin at the same time.

Did you see her sex tape?

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 11-20-2008 06:03 AM

gaslight 11-20-2008 06:17 AM

Harmonic minor is a cool scale. Melodic and harmonic minor create some sweet chords.

Aaron 11-20-2008 06:25 AM

I'd say it's a Gmaj7#5#11 over the B.

G Lydian Augmented style yo.

Tough naming ask, there'd be a lot of possibilities.
