I present to You:

http://community.livejournal.com/hc_punk_dwnld/386469.html

Only The ifolder links work. But its a bitch actually getting to the files.

1. Click on the ifolder link
2. A Whole bunch of Russian s'hit will open up, click on one of the sponsors (Words in Russian)
3. Wait 30 seconds.
4. Another pop up should appear (make sure it isn't blocked by your browser)
5. It'll ask you to put in a code, with you might have to do a few times.
6. Click on the link that says something like ckayatb.
7. Have fun downloading your file from a slow as f'uck Russian Server.

Also, theres one or two dudes on Soulseek who have it. But y'know.

I've used this Russian rubbish before to find some otherwise impossible to find albums, but sometimes thats all that's available =/

On Another note, I've given up trying to find a decent sounding version of Orchid's Gatefold and settled for the fact that I will have to forever live with these dodgy recordings of these awesome songs and actually out them on my ipod. *sigh* Damn DIY aesthetic.

And I finally got You And I's Discography today, as well Lineage Situation, I lovelovelove 'em, they both remind me of the Kite Flying Society, which is like one of my favorite ever screamo bands.
Wow, dude. Thanks a bunch :)

RetiredAt21 02-18-2008 03:37 PM

Neil Perry and Kite Flying Society are two of my favorite emo bands. You And I are pretty good, too.
All these genres are giving a headache.

The definition of Scremo utilized by my peers is "Emo with screaming in it."
I usually translated that as a "more aggressive version of emo."

Well, I gave Silverstein more of a listen I judged them wrongly by one song.
After listening to the song "Giving Up" I would assume there would be somewhat of a trace of emo somewhere in there, considering the lyrics of the song and the emotional feel it delivers.

Either way, Screamo is a genre that until now I didn't bother looking into.
Anyone got any rad examples of good screamo bands?
listen to rites of spring

DJTeeLay 02-18-2008 08:19 PM

I like Rites of Spring.

TimJim 02-18-2008 08:36 PM

i am the robots: how many GB's of music do you have??

StreetlightRock 02-18-2008 08:51 PM

Rites Of Spring is OK. Of all those early bands, Moss Icon would still have to be my favorite =)

Iluvatar 02-18-2008 08:57 PM

Moss Icon is the best "first wave of emo" band imo.

Concubine 02-18-2008 08:59 PM

The Hated dude

Iluvatar 02-18-2008 09:06 PM

Lyburnum is one of my favorite records

so

DJTeeLay 02-18-2008 09:11 PM

I'm going to look up Moss Icon.

jrowa001 02-18-2008 09:18 PM

Gospel and Pg99 are the only screamo bands i listen to on a regular basis. not that they are the only ones i like, i just tend to forget about the others

StreetlightRock 02-18-2008 09:18 PM

oh do oh do please.

But now your sleeping or f'ucking or somethiiinnnggggg.

Iluvatar 02-18-2008 09:19 PM

Lyburnum Wits End Liberation Fly is an amazing song, especially in the second half.

StreetlightRock 02-18-2008 09:21 PM

Did anyone figure out wtf Lyburnum supposed to mean or is?

73.3
I like Rites of Spring.
why would you compare silverstein to emo then :/

DJTeeLay 02-18-2008 11:45 PM

Nah...

I actually like Silverstein.
Go ahead. Flame me.
I HAVE NO ****ING IDEA WHY!
I just like their tunes.
They're catchy, like AIDS (copyright of Cocaine).

i am the robots 02-18-2008 11:47 PM

cool

DJTeeLay 02-18-2008 11:59 PM

Fine.
That was irrelevant.

So yeah, I dig Rites of Spring.

EDIT: Anyone here like Further Seems Forever?

pixiesfanyo 02-19-2008 03:58 AM

Rain, Rites of Spring, Gray Matter, The Hated all have great early emo records. I think the mid-'90s scene involving Moss Icon, Shotmaker, and Navio Forge is my favorite era though.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-19-2008 04:36 AM

off minor are playing here in april, i think i'll go.

DBlitz 02-19-2008 04:38 AM
They're catchy, like AIDS (copyright of Cocaine).
It was funny when Cocaine said it out of the blue.

Screamo is not a genre I really can get into imo... I tried listening to Circle Takes the Square lots of times in the past but I couldn't stand the vocals (I couldn't pay attention to the music), listened to some today and really liked the music, can't believe I didn't hear it before. But what is with the vocals? It starts getting shaky...

I'll still get the album though

StreetlightRock 02-19-2008 05:59 AM

The Warbly vocals were the first thing that caught on to me, i was like hey thats pretty cool.... went from there.

DBlitz 02-19-2008 06:11 AM

I found it quite intolerable, and it sounds like his voice is cracking

...but I got the album and its cool. Started my second listen just a few seconds ago

RetiredAt21 02-19-2008 08:48 AM

I really like Indian Summer.

Iluvatar 02-19-2008 09:12 AM

you consider Moss Icon mid 90s?

Indian Summer was cool but I don't listen to them ever.

StreetlightRock 02-19-2008 09:24 AM
Indian Summer was cool but I don't listen to them ever.
This.

Actually, I put Science on just then, and its still a cool listen.

RetiredAt21 02-19-2008 11:08 AM

I listen to them quite a bit.
