McP3000 10-14-2008 03:10 AM

is Dimmu Borgir a joke because they're obviously not christian or because they're obviously a very bad band

because both are true imo

Dimmu Burger 10-14-2008 07:56 AM
what kind of band?
I guess post-hardcore or something like that. He wants to be something like akissforjersey, which is ok. I doubt it would turn out like that though, it all depends on who is playing guitars. We'll see, this might end up never going anywhere.

jrowa001 10-14-2008 08:06 AM

my fav christian based band is Blindside. so ****ing good

masscows 10-14-2008 08:19 AM

I had a dream last night that I was listening to Underoath and they had lots of blastbeats and grindy riffing (i've only heard like 1 or 2 of their songs so...)

I think it was because of Josh's post saying something like roflroflrofl underoath is metal roflroflrofl

Whitechapel447 10-14-2008 11:34 AM

dude if bands want to rep God in their songs let them. that's what they live for, why shouldn't they promote it? if you don't like it don't listen.

Right on dude!

I really like Silence and About A Burning Fire.

jrowa001 10-14-2008 01:58 PM

yeah those are their top 2 albums. A Thought Crushed My Mind and The Great Depression are both great as well. the s/t debut is ok too. their newest EP is good and i cant wait for their new full length.

you talkin to me

Dimmu Burger 10-14-2008 02:01 PM

I can't get into any of their stuff other than those two albums. Especially tGD.

jrowa001 10-14-2008 02:05 PM

TGD is not as exciting but their mellow songs are excellent. Christian's vocals are so good. nothing they will do will probably top AaBF or Silence

Dimmu Burger 10-14-2008 02:11 PM

True dat.
metal was founded on SATAN
technically, the founders of metal were very christian and often sung about very christian beliefs

but then again im just letting myself be trolled because im too ****ing tired to care

Whitechapel447 10-16-2008 10:36 AM

if you like christian metal look up Mortification.

80's christian death metal. their vocalist had a scream like no other.

CoryKickkk 10-16-2008 10:37 AM

i think music is music,
if the influence of the song makes you think the music is bad... then you don't know good music either way.
It's pretty dumb to say (since the band is christian they suck) any one who has that kind of outlook on music, listens to music most likely for popularity or trends. Not because it's the music they enjoy. Some christian bands suck and some are great. Just like any other type of bands or genre out there it's all music.

so realllly, just listen to music for music not for what the people in the band stand for and if your not open minded enough for that then listen to what you want, and don't try to push your garbage opinions on people.

forrrrr reallllzzz
Beloved's last album was the shiznit. LIYW was good too.
indeed. christian melodic hardcore for the most part is some of the best stuff in the genre.
