Heaven Can Wait....hands down, nothing comes close to me. that song just blows me away every time i hear it.
|
I have absolutely no idea. No More Lies IS **** good though.
|
Heaven can wait for me to... just love the energy in that song. love how Steve made an great bassline for it..i love to play that bassline.. Rime of the mariner is great too... love to play that bassline to..
|
What album is it on?
|
What album is it on?
Heaven can wait is on the "Somwhere in time" album.. great album, just got to love it. |
off'f somewhere in time, i prefer wasted years. heaven can wait is great on maiden england though.
best song is to hard. i would be typing out about 80% of maiden's back catalogue. here's an easier question: what's the WORST maiden song? for me it's a toss-up between The Apparition (fear of the dark) and Virus (best of the beast) |
ah,,, thats an hard one... i guess i will say fear is the key from fear of the dark...
|
It's gotta be Gangland or Invaders! Although both are amusing
|
^ both are good songs. its true, i'm probably the only person in the world who likes gangland.
|
I love gangland. Invaders always seemed a little crap, I always skip to Children of the ****ed, IMO one of their best.
I'm definately getting SIT next, completeting my golden era collection from NOTM to SSOASS. Given that these and DOD are the only ones I have, I can't really judge a worst song. Some of them I don't like as much as others, but generaly they all have at least one redeeming feature. |
I don't like gangland too much although its got a cool drum intro, but yeah Ive always loved invaders. My fav song at the moment is probably Dream of mirrors or Afraid to shoot strangers
|
worst maiden song....
w/ Paul- prowler w/ Bruce- the appriation w/ Blayze- virus |
I always liked Invaders, probably because I play it so much on bass. Good scale workout in the chorus.
|
its a shame Invaders was only played live a handful of times, i see it as a great opening tune for a show. its what id call a Maiden fan favourite.

Anyone got the tracklist for the Rasing Hell video? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
worst maiden song....
w/ Paul- prowler
listen to it while snowing, for some reason that song becomes GREAT then... i have always loved i... oh, and i wanna ad Gangland and invaders to... i never listen to The number of the beast anymore... becouse the good songs from that album are usually played at concerts (like the live cds in eddies archive) |
The Apparition? That song is awesome! Its one of iron maidens most unique sounding songs i reckon.
|
.... are you serious?
|
I read a quote form Steve saying that they'd always closed their set's with the song Iron Maiden. Is this still true?
|
The Prowler is awesome!
"Got me (something) my self, and reeling around!" I love that old punkish maiden! |

My favorite songs, I've got four...with a reason for one.
2 Minutes to Midnight, why? It's the song that introduced me to Iron Maiden Aces High Wrathchild (Live at RIR 2001) And, of course, The Wicker Man |
I've always considered "Quest for Fire" to be a really stupid song, probably because of the lyrics. Dinosaurs and cavemen didn't live at the same time!

Hey guys, I'm just getting into Iron Maiden, and I'm going to buy my first Maiden album tomorrow! I consider myself a die-hard metal fan, but have been broke for about 4 months (due to the massive scale buying on guitar and guitar stuffs). So I have yet to buy a Maiden album.
I've heard some Maiden (don't ask which songs or which albums, I can't tell you), and I like it, which is mainly why I'm buying on of their albums. :) Duh. Anyway, I was wondering what album you would recommend as either their best or the best one to start out with. Thanks for the help! Population Zero |
The Prowler is awesome!
"Got me (something) my self, and reeling around!" I love that old punkish maiden!
punkish...see thats what gets me lol. im not into that sound very much, i enjoy the first two albums alot but the punkish sound to me isnt what got me into Iron Maiden and isnt what i would call their signature sound, with Paul it sure, but i see people remembering them for their epic sound that came more into the picture with Bruce. |

It has a nice solo though. I was listening to it just now and I just suddenly though 'wow'! This is an amazing page: www.maidenfans.com There is also a link the the middle at the top to the Iron Maiden Commentry, which has possible interpretations of all thier songs, as well as other stuff. I would advise and Maiden fan to check it out :) |
Quest for Fire is incredible, lyrical content i think is great because it tells a good tale of how ealry man survived in a harsh landscape. the rhythem riff is killer, not to mention Nicko's great triplets on the ride cymbal!! Bruce hits some of the highest notes he ever reached in Maiden history in the first verse "...swamp and caves WERE HOOOOMMMEEEE!!!" lol. killer tune.
