To be fair, however, you were with the same woman for 15 years. Since you were 19.
That means that you missed out on a lot of experience with regard to the opposite gender. Don't think that all women are like that. I for one, am not, nor are my friends. |

I had been with a lot of girls over those early years, since I busted my cherry at 12 in the back seat of an AMC Eagle. I was pretty sure I could do no better. That is the main focus for me now. Why did I think so little of myself? Why did I allow myself to believe I needed a good girl from a good family, when it's not me. Never was. I wanted a chick on the level with me. You know, you think you know it all, even when you're younger. You know nothing though. Life is long. Long enough that sometimes it's too late to learn from these little things along the way. |
I keep women on pedestals for what they endure, and that gets me into trouble.
Do not put people on pedestals, a falling idol is apt to strike you dead. |

Hey gee! Thank you Captain Obvious! Where were you about 15 years ago when that advice would have mattered? :thumb: I think I've learned that now, but thanks for sticking it out there. |

Well put - it's just a shame that some of the younger kids won't see that. Anyway, hello, sir. I would ask how you've been, but you've already touched base on that already. I was 5. |
I was 5.
 Good response. |
Haha. Pamela's brother doesn't know we're going out. He's in my Theatre class with me, and my teacher found out the two of us were going out. She started making all these hints towards me, and he was confused as hell. Ah, the awesomeness of it all.

 I hate this place sometimes. 5? Geez I'm old. Well, at least you're wise in your (so far) years. |
Yeah bro I'm chugging along.. I've seen better days, but things are clearing up here and there.
Good to read. Hopefully things will turn around sooner rather than later.
Thanks and good stuff to Iscariot earlier. You realize it doesn't do anything a couple hours after the fact, and while you didn't think you'd feel bad about it, you do wind up changing your perspective in hindsight. After all, hindsight is 20/20.
Haha. Pamela's brother doesn't know we're going out. He's in my Theatre class with me, and my teacher found out the two of us were going out. My AP English teacher back in high school would have weekly vocabulary tests, but he would use his students and their stories or relationships in the sentences. It was good times because that made the tests sooooooo much easier. I think I aced every single one of them, but that's because I was a freakin' genius in high school :p |
Well, she would look at Thomas(Pam's brother) and be like "Thomas, I saw your sister today. She's really cute."
Then she'd look at me and say "Isn't she cute, Mitch?" I kinda nodded and said "Why're you asking me?" She just smiled. Then she'd be like "So Mitch, have you been around any cute girls lately?" I'd say "Yeah, they can't stay away from me." Anyway, I'm not going to go into every little detail of every word that was said, but it was funny as hell. |

Your girlfriend's brother hasn't been hit by a dump truck of subtlety lately. |
Jared, here's my advice for making the break-up easier.
First, just straight-up tell her that you two are through. She had her chance, and she not only wasted it, she shot it down. You have to be the one to end it. Don't wait for her to get tired of stringing you along. Don't even bring Drew into the equation when you do it. That little hog-raping jizz-fetcher isn't worth it. Do not give him the satisfaction of being given any degree of attention. Then, get your buddies over to your house with a couple pizzas, a case of your canned/bottled beverage of choice, and a really good Tarantino movie. Failing a Tarantino movie, classic action or action/horror films will suffice (i.e. Escape from New York, Dog Soldiers, Alien, X-Men, etc). Spend the next several hours being unashamedly male. You'll feel better. When relationships end, we all go through a period of emotional withdrawal that I've unofficially dubbed the "pint phase." Men reach for a pint of Guiness, women for a pint of Ben & Jerry's. It's a tough point, but everytime a friend of mine has gone through it, I arrange the same scenario I described above, and the next day they're fine. Go with what works. |

I guarantee she'll go right along with it. I'm going to feel horrible. Tomorrow, however, Ashley and I are going to go see Final Destination 3 and I'm going fishing on Saturday. Hopefully my distractions work. |

Wow. You know what you're talking about man. There's some situations that call for an air of finality like the one you're describing and Jared seems to be in one of those situations. I'd be inclined to take half an hour to cool off, and end it later in a more civil... but it is absolutely impossible to argue with this. Well done. |
I feel like shit now. Sarah just now found out about Pamela. :(

And, what happened? |
I don't understand why you feel like shit over something that's really none of her business.

I know I shouldn't feel bad, but I can't help it.

The one about never hurting her?
It's kinda hard for me to read... |
Yeah, that's the one.
I hate when a guy promises you he'd never hurt you and he does... not once but over and over again...
Secrets can not be kept... There's always a leak... always. !NEVER MAKE A PROMISE TO ME AGAIN!
refl She's so caught up in herself. |
Why, for Christ's sake, does she feel like it's okay for her to give him a hard time because he "didn't call her" on their one month and then stomp off in a huff, but it's not okay for him to call her bluff?
|
That's what I'm saying. I shouldn't feel bad, because I'm not at fault. I guess I'm too caring for my own good.

i thought i had the greatest relationship ever
still pretty much do except that i just found out that my boyfriend might be going to college in june. rather than being like every other person in the world and going in september, he'd go for classes starting in june. slightly devastating. |
Mitch:
This should be a little lesson to her: Don't act like a two year old; people won't put up with it.
Mitch:
