I met Heafy last night in Philly, got him and Corey to sign my Opeth shirt (that I will never wash again), and all four of them signed both of my tickets. Their live show has now turned me into a fan. I used to hate them before.

Heafy sounds like Phil Anselmo. I thought I was listening to Pantera when they played the Domination/Walk medley.

Anybody else go to the Philly show?

i think there music and solos are good,but i cant stand the vocals at all.to me its probably the worst metalcore vocals,if they even are metalcore.what genre are they considered as.

I don't see how anyone can say Trivium aren't metal. I also disagree with some of the bands that they don't let on there, when there are bands like Rainbow and Black Sabbath on the site, who are really just hard rock.

Trvium are real fun to drum to. If you wanna have a laugh, stick Decleration on, and you know during the bridge where the drum fill (crash chokes and double bassing) cuts out and you get that killer riff carrying on? Yeah. Follow that on double bass. WELL FUN.

Sounds better without it but its fun! Just don't do it live.

Sabbath could probably be called doom metal, and nobody would disagree.

Trivium are definitely metal. Whether they're metalcore or post-thrash or speed or whatever the hell, they are definitely some kind of metal.

I agree there is some metal in Sabbath's sound, but I would mainly classify them as hard rock. Just as there is metal in the music of bands like Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold, yet these bands are not included on the site.

Metal Archives is wrong on alot of stuff so I don't generally go by what they say.

Avenged Sevenfold is metal and so is Slipknot and Sabbath. Trivium is not metalcore, just metal or if you want to argue it, melodic thrash.

Last night in Philly, Matt said they were taping. Do they tape every show (like Maiden does), or are they taping that one specifically for a DVD?

Edit: Nevermind, I got the answer on the Trivium boards..they tape every show in case they want to make a DVD

I love Trivium. I listened to Ascendancy just this morning, and I can't wait for their new album. They had a pretty good section on them in the newest Guitar World, too. Awesome.
