nice..

Pazz 05-29-2005 08:22 PM

Hey, sorry I wasn't here for the last couple days, I was out of town for baseball. Anyways, I don't know if I would get that CD. Just because there isn't much on there that I haven't heard on seen. The DVD and that it is live would make it nice to get but, I could settle just for DVD and be fine. That's not the greatest hits album that's coming out either, that's just a concert.
And I probably can't get it here in Canada, I would have to get it off the internet or something.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

pop-punk has been around since blink were in nappies.

Descendents, ramones, buzzcocks were around mid/late 70s and these are the bands that Blink drew and adapted their sound from to make the pop rock songs they play
what i was trying to say is, was it actually called pop-punk back then or was it salled punk rock. I dont think they actually used the term pop-punk to be honest with you. :thumb:

Independent_CA 05-29-2005 10:09 PM

That article was a disaster. They apparently couldn't get around the point that Tom was trying to make, which was that he doesn't give a crap what people think.

10571z 05-29-2005 10:12 PM

but the thing is did people say ramones where punk or did they say they where pop punk. they migth of been pop punk but people called them punk

exactly

comfort eagle 05-30-2005 12:52 AM
I think that he was divorced.
isnt that what "Stay together for the kids" is about?
also, if blink was to make a greatest hits cd, i dont think it should be devided into the era's. i would rather hear how they progressed instead of seeing what all their different era's were. if it went by eras, it would just seem like a re-released cd.

Well done, read what someone else put and pass it off as your own.

Ramones would probably have been referred to as punk, but Descendents etc were referred to as melodic punk, before that genre became pop-punk

Untitled 05-30-2005 06:40 AM

Yeah, but bands like bad religion are melodic punk, but not pop-punk. Or there just plane rock according to my mates, because they use more then 4 chords

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 05-30-2005 07:05 AM

Yep, that's why the genre name probably changed. BR are clearly punk (well they have pop-punk songs but those are the minority), although the melodic singing is a typical feature of a pop-punk band.

A lot of people get genres confused because they spot a feature of one genre of music (i.e. melodic singing) mixed in with another genre of music. They fail to realise that there are more crteria to fill to be included in a genre

once again, genre arguments are gay

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 05-30-2005 09:18 AM

Genre arguments would not be arguments if people had common sense. Check the definiton of an argument, and learn to quote

dancetomdance182 05-30-2005 09:32 AM

Yeah Felch, your quoting gets kind of annoying.

hey, is it true that travis played for the aquabats

jonesi1992 05-30-2005 10:06 AM

post the proof

irishbasketcase 05-30-2005 10:17 AM

it was a question

dancetomdance182 05-30-2005 11:01 AM
it was a question
Yes, he did play for the Aquabats. When blink and the Aquabats were touring, blink needed a drummer because Scott left. Therefore, Travis filled in for blink and learned the whole set in about 30 minutes. From then on, Travis became blink's drummer.

irishbasketcase 05-30-2005 11:06 AM

ok.
