It hit me today how good Mike really is. I mean, I respected him before, but I started learning Sick Sad Little World today, and I was like "wow, this solo rawks."

Skyler 09-25-2005 04:54 PM

Nothing Mike plays for Incubus even comes close to showcasing his true talent, not even Sick Sad Little World.

i would totally agree with that :thumb:

Sleeper 09-25-2005 08:07 PM

He should release a solo album.

The Time-Lapse Consortium stuff and the live improvisation doesn't even do him justice.

Who is this guy and what is his significance with the band?

SlashHalen 09-25-2005 09:29 PM

Is it true that they dont know how to read music? I heard that on the radio today. Just curious

Sound Boy 09-25-2005 09:29 PM

i wanna see a dj song and a secret song on the new album. and more **** that sounds like "make a move" i love the way the music sounds in that song behind brandons voice, it almost sounds like it doesnt fit.

BlindWriting 09-25-2005 09:34 PM

So Incubus are back in the studio, writing and recording, according to their site.

Any guess on what kind of direction the band will go in this time around? It seems to change from album to album.

No one actuall knows but there are several theories; none of which I feel like typing out right now. Perform a Google search for Charles Mulholland.

That would be a waste of an album in my opinion.

There's no telling really. I think they'll continue in the more Jazz-influenced direction they've been going in. I personally can't wait to hear Ben's work on the new album; he should be coming out of his shell so to speak now that he's toured with the band and become familiarized with playing with them.

Skyler 09-25-2005 10:07 PM

Ben is probably the most talented musician in the band. He can direct the music any way he wants to now.

I know Mike and Ben know how to read music. Mike studied theory and even went to a music college for a short while. I'm not sure about the other's though.

It's Brandon's dad, he appeared with him on TV maybe 6 months ago.

Kage 09-25-2005 10:18 PM

Would anyone care to send me Incubus' The Odyssey? Didn't they do a song called that that everyone raved about?

That's just another rumor.

Yeah, it's from the Halo 2 soundtrack. It's broken down into 4 parts. Do you have AIM? I can send you the first part, I'm currently downloading the other parts.

Yeah, that'd be great. headshokk7 is my AIM screen name.

No, I saw pictures and the video. I'll try to find it.

That's hard to say. Brandon is a genious when it comes to writing lyrics and drawing, and his voice is incredible. He can sing anything and make it sound good. I would say Brandon is the most talented.

Janitor 09-26-2005 01:58 PM

to what?

And this is all I can find in regards to Chuck. http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/showbiz.today/music.ontheroad/0111/30.html
I don't remember where I saw the pictures.

it sounds alot like rage against the machine. mike's tone is alot like tom morello's from evil empire...my two cents anyway

Lunch 09-26-2005 02:35 PM

Make a Move was way too bland for me. I'm not looking forward to a whole album filled with songs like that.

I think it's a good song, but not good going by Incubus' standards.

mutant! 09-26-2005 02:42 PM

+1. However, aside from that, everything else they've released recently seems to showcase the beginning of exploration into the more jazzy rock territory as opposed to metal. Megalomaniac is a good example of that, methinks. Whatever they do, however, I will buy the album, because I respect the way they can evolve and stay relevant to today's music, and not just stale and rot away with the passing of time.
