wow after reading some of this thread its scary how many people really have no clue about what real emo and screamo is. worst one I read was someone listing Korn and Slipknot I think... wow. I havent seen much mention of Orchid though, they are definitely one of my favorite screamo bands. my first post btw, so..um... hi!

btw, does anyone have ANY CLUE where I could buy The Blood Brother's Burn Piano Island Burn? It seems to have fallen off the face of the ****ing earth. I cant find this cd ANYWHERE, not even online. tried amazon, artist direct (their label), insound, interpunk. all of them either dont have it or have been in restock for months....
nitzguy 02-09-2005 12:39 PM

ok, duly noted

nitzguy 02-09-2005 01:11 PM
Ya. They're definitely not emo or screamo or anything resembling it. File under popcore.
what makes a band "scremo" or "pop-core"?

RiotUpstart 02-09-2005 07:39 PM

or just listen to Circle Takes The Square for a good example of screamo.theyre f'uckin great.it just grows on people.

NewKindofArmy03 02-09-2005 07:53 PM

I didn't like CTTS when I listened to them.

The best screamo band i've heard still is Envy, they're so good.

NewKindofArmy03 02-09-2005 08:14 PM

Maybe it's because i'm not into much screamo. I'll give them a few more listens though.

LUDWIG PLAYA 02-09-2005 11:14 PM

I'm pretty into Boys Night Out right now, but I wouldn't really consider them screamo...

SactoUnited 02-10-2005 02:01 AM

Ska needs a forum!

DeadReflection 02-10-2005 07:53 AM

BNO is a very fine canadian band.

tornpictures 02-10-2005 08:16 AM

DFelon, did you dig all that stuff I sent you?

DeadReflection 02-10-2005 08:27 AM

Does anyone like These Arms Are Snakes?

nitzguy 02-10-2005 09:23 AM
Popcore is an invention of mine to describe a trend that has become very popular lately. It's a portmanteau of the two genres pop-punk and hardcore. Bands like Hawthorne Heights, Finch, and Underoath
Finch was around for while, before bands like HH, and Senses fail.

nirvanafan1 02-10-2005 10:07 AM

Would Cursive be emo?

bendurarmstolooklikewings 02-10-2005 03:51 PM

i'm going to see hawthorne heights tomorrow with the early november, hopesfall, and maxeen. I don't really like hawthorne heights, they're pretty generic. I'm pretty much going for hopesfall, and for the early november i guess. I also might go see welcome the plague year this summer. I heard they were great live, so i can't wait.

bendurarmstolooklikewings 02-10-2005 03:54 PM
Would Cursive be emo?
No, i think they are indie or something along those lines. They're great though. I think tim kasher was in an emo band a long time ago called slowdown virginia. By the way, did anyone get jerome's dream full discography? It came out a couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking of ordering it.

cbmartinez 02-10-2005 04:48 PM

Cursive are more of an indie band.
