You cant realy compare MFKR and iowa they are 2 diffrent singers, 2 diffrent sounds .

As far as the new album goes i personaly think this is coreys album its what he wanted, i love the new album the mellow songs are great, corey really expresses his feelings through his voice. he has a great voice he neeeeds to show it more

Slipknot's previous 2 albums were percussion lead.Vol.3 was vocal lead. His vocals drove that whole album. Its a subdued dynamic in the album that I just noticed a couple months ago even though Ive had the album since May.Listen to the way the music is molded to fit his vocals. The guitars are almost in perfect harmony with his vocals in Vermilion.A few other songs aswell. Its awesome.Without a doubt the best performance of Corey's career.
on the new tour tshirts, they have a pic of the band without their masks on, i think their faces are painted all blue or something isntead, its interesting, but really, they don't look too pretty without the masks on.
its probobly the "death masks" , the ones they wear wen they play vermilion. its like a mold of their faces

Sleeper 02-19-2005 11:21 PM

I have seen them play with the "death masks" before, I downloaded them playing vermillion live at some european award show. There pretty cool masks, I wouldnt be surprised they dont play a couple of shows on the Vol 3 tour with those masks.

Thor 02-20-2005 11:04 AM

The coolest masks were the ones they used in Iowa, but Corey's first mask was his coolest.

TheSubtleArts 02-20-2005 03:20 PM

What are you trying to say? Joey is a great drummer and an important part of Slipknot.
Nothing else should matter.

How much does Joey actually contribute to the band? With 3 drummers/percussionists, it's hard to tell...

He's the main drummer, and he writes a hell of a lot of the music and lyrics.

the other 2 arent "drummers" they just beat the **** out of stuff and maybe bang on some bassdrum like thing turned sidways, they dont play drumsets.

The JoZ 02-24-2005 12:21 AM
the other 2 arent "drummers" they just beat the **** out of stuff and maybe bang on some bassdrum like thing turned sidways, they dont play drumsets.
They play custom-made drumsets, and if you paid even half a bit of attention to their music, you'd notice where Chris and Shawn come in.

TheSubtleArts 02-24-2005 02:21 PM

they hit the kegs and are back up vocals too

PepsiMetal 02-24-2005 02:39 PM

Are those 2 custom drums identical or different?

Huber 02-24-2005 02:53 PM
Are those 2 custom drums identical or different?
They both use custom drums sets built by Shawn. They use:

2 Mount Toms
1 Floor Tom
1 Bass Drum, set up like the floor tom
1 Anheuser-Busch Beer Keg
Vater Hammer sticks (now they've been in ads for Vic Firth, so they may have changed)

willis2441 02-24-2005 03:29 PM

i love the drum solo in people = $hit...
