So last night I went over to visit the 12Y girls (friends at uni; that's their apartment number) to watch the baseball game, and the topic of sitcoms came up.
Girl A: "Seinfeld is the worst TV show I have ever seen. It's not even funny." Girl B: "Ohmahgawd, I know! My dad has all of the seasons on DVD but I just don't get it." Jom [thinking]: "I can't wait to post this on MX." (PS: not really, I swear.) Girl C: "What? I love Seinfeld. How can you not like the Soup Nazi?" Girl D: "Yeah. I love the episode where Jerry forgets the name of his date except for the fact that it rhymes with a female anatomy part." Girl A: "Never saw it." Jom: "I'm not surprised." Girl A: "What was her name?" Girl C/Jom: "Dolores." Girl A: "Wait... what? That doesn't rhyme with anything." Jom: :-| Jom: "So what show do you call 'yours,' then?" Girl A: "Friends." Girl B: "Grey's Anatomy." Girl D: "That's not even a sitcom!" BARF. |
I like Friends but Grey's Anatomy is pretty terrible.
|
lol at women being the inferior gender
or, by your example, half of women |

Indeed. Seinfeld's good too. |
I love Seinfeld. I can always watch it.
Same goes for Arrested Development and the Simpsons (pre new ****). |
SOP: that's how I am with Curb Your Enthusiasm, I love Seinfeld though.
YAYO: I'm always up for a good ol' Simpsons |
I think right after the 300th episode of the Simpsons, it just plummeted.
The first few seasons I didn't find terribly funny either. But there's that whole middle period that is honestly some of the funniest stuff I've seen. |
Seinfeld is the best. kramer is an idol of mine. there aren't much new sitcoms that i like these days. for cartoons, i still watch the new Simpsons and Family Guy even though neither of them are as funny as the older ones. cant wait for the new Futurama though
|
They've been playing all the golden-era Simpsons episodes lately, it's awesome. The one where Krusty reunites with his pops was on today.
The new episodes are pretty bad, but I still tune in every week. They totally changed the format of the show to follow a more Family Guy style, ie: no actual plot and a bunch of shitty jokes. |
I like According to Jim, as far as new ones go :o
|
yea it's all "lol Homer does something stupid randomly"
I watch My Name is Earl sometimes, I think it's pretty good. I like Jason Lee in general though so that's probably why |
Yeah, I miss the plotlines.
|
they're playing re-runs of older family guy episodes now. some of them even have plots!
|
yea it's all "lol Homer does something stupid randomly"
They really took his character too far in terms of stupidity. He always used to be that lovable oaf who made realistic mistakes and now he's just some fat dipshit who cant do anything right. He went from being a sincere ****up to some careless lug. |
I have to be honest, I think the first few Family Guy episodes are hilarious.
|
Simpsons is classic, of course. But I don't watch it a lot anymore, I think it will get funnier again if I don't watch it for a while.
I think the thing that bothers me the most in the new episodes is Homer, I don't know what it is, but I think Castellanetatatetetea changed his voice or something, he sounds annoying now. Everything sounds so forced and over the top.
I have to be honest, I think the first few Family Guy episodes are hilarious.
Don't worry, Lunch. I love Family Guy, we don't want to be indie fags and diss Family Guy! Who cares about the plot? Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas doesn't have a plot and it's awesome. |
kids seem to like family guy more than the simpsons
this is a sad time |
I'm listening to Regina Spektor, and while I'm enjoying it I secretly wish she'd shut the **** up.
|
That's because new Family Guy hasn't gotten as bad as new Simpsons.
I'm listening to Lily Allen, we are pop queens, Coke! |

the simpsons haven't really done much to keep up with the generations, other than a pointless celebrity cameo on every episode now.
|
I like Robot Chicken.
|

yeah they basically write around pop culture references and exaggerated stupidity whereas they used to have actual stories. not just "omfg homer is a ****up, let justin timberlake teach him how to win marge's heart back" |
i like scat porn
|
"Listen up, Homer, if you're gonna bring 'Sexyback' to Marge, You gotta get 'in sync' with your emotions!"
"hey look a fork and a toaster DOH" |
yeah thats true, he still manages to make me laugh more than any other cartoon character
|
I'll always love the Simpsons, but the new episodes are awful.
I'd rather watch Futurama or King of the Hill to be honest. |
