Well I'm pretty sure you're not too big on Trivium, but as you said, Heafy was in Capharnaum, a band you do like. So saying "Capharnaum slays Trivium" wouldn't be so ridiculous would it?
 Wtf?

Tyler 12-09-2007 05:39 PM
 Wtf?
Matt Heafy did vocals for Capharnaum on "Fractured", before Trivium was formed

rattlehead42147 12-09-2007 05:47 PM
Especially since Dismember's vocalist and guitarist were in Carnage, thus making "Carnage slays them" a ridiculous statement.
what I'm really trying to say is that they wrote better material for Carnage than Dismember imo. yes i know its one album, i happen to be a Carnage fanboy, my apologies.

Fractured*

Tyler 12-09-2007 05:56 PM

That's what I said

Oh I know that. I was just amused by rattle's process of thinking I guess.

i am the robots 12-09-2007 05:58 PM

You're on par with him tbh.
That's what I said
Of course...

:upset:

Were you referring to me?

i am the robots 12-09-2007 06:00 PM

I'm sorry baby. :/

C.O.A. 12-09-2007 06:04 PM

So am I really a shitty poster? I thought I had gotten better tbh.

Dimmu Burger 12-09-2007 06:33 PM

Its ok, I'm still here to make you look good. :thumb:

does anybody like Demiurg?

rattlehead42147 12-09-2007 07:11 PM

alright i finally got my cover of Uroboric Forms recorded, its by no means perfect. For one I don't have a distortion pedal so i had no way to make the switch from distortion to clean sound smooth. Also it was done on a 4track so dont expect it to sound like something out of Morrisound.

and Paul's solo was pretty much butchered, i could have re-recorded it but I prefer Jason's anyway.

I do a little.

Hrimthursum 12-09-2007 08:00 PM

Anybody a fan of Angelcorpse, old Divine Empire, or Bloodbath?

rattlehead42147 12-09-2007 08:01 PM

definitely not Bloodbath, and I've only heard like one Angelcorpse song.

Hrimthursum 12-09-2007 08:03 PM

Though they have other (as I hear better) material, I have Of Lucifer and Lightening. Check it out.

What don't you like about Bloodbath (besides the horrendous guitar sound lol)?

Angmar 12-09-2007 08:05 PM

The production on Resurrection Through Carnage completely kills it for me :-/

Hrimthursum, are you a Death fan?

Tyler 12-09-2007 08:07 PM
I have Of Lucifer and Lightening.
Definitely top 5 worst albums released in 2007.

Hrimthursum 12-09-2007 08:09 PM
Definitely top 5 worst albums released in 2007.
I heard they had better material...apparantly it completely slays this one then. I didn't enjoy the production of it, but thought it had some good moments.

Angmar--Death is actually a toss up for me. I once owned the Live in L.A. disc ('twas given to me) and did not like it at all. Since then I've heard some supposedly older Death and liked it a little more, but still can't quite get into it. Though everyone I know thinks I'm a fool, 'tis just not my thing I guess.

Coke's review of the Anglecorpse didn't make me want to check it out, but I'm going to get some of their earlier stuff eventually.
yeah, basically the guitar sound, but i'm not into the whole "retrodeath" thing. I thought the songs were pretty bland except for Ways to the Grave. I've only heard RtC so i cant judge the rest.

Understandable. The only Bloodbath material I do not like is the Breeding Death EP. I thoroughly enjoy the two LPs, minus the guitar tone.

rattlehead42147 12-09-2007 08:16 PM

so the guitar tone is bad on NMF too? and the EP for some reason seemed promising based on the sputnik review, i might get it.

Hrimthursum 12-09-2007 08:17 PM

Nightmares Made Flesh is slightly more tolerable; still a little oversaturated to me. Breeding Death didn't sit well with me for some reason.

rattlehead42147 12-09-2007 08:26 PM

are you an Edge of Sanity fan by any chance?

Angmar 12-09-2007 08:27 PM

Edge of Sanity rules, I have both Crimson albums, I like the first one best of course. :)

Hrimthursum 12-09-2007 08:28 PM

I have not heard of the aforementioned band. What are they like?

Angmar 12-09-2007 08:29 PM
I have not heard of the aforementioned band. What are they like?
Progressive death metal done very well, they can pull off a 40 minute song and keep it interesting the whole way through.

Hrimthursum 12-09-2007 08:31 PM

Define progressive; prog loses my interest very quickly...no offense intended.
Progressive death metal done very well, they can pull off a 40 minute song and keep it interesting the whole way through.
summary = get Crimson ASAP
edit:
not Dream Theater progressive, sounds more like Opeth, but better imo, Michael Akerfeldt does vocals in certain parts
