It grew on me, but it's by far one of the weakest tracks by Maiden IMO.

Why in the hell do they play it live when there are songs like Infinite Dreams on that album?
Don't know. I think they should do more songs from 'Powerslave' or more of anything from 1980-1986. *Sigh* Should've seen the last tour. :upset:

vashts80 12-24-2005 09:44 PM

I want to see Seventh Son of a Seventh Son played on the tour for the next album! And Rime of the Ancient Mariner! And Powerslave! Hehe :D

I'm betting that both Powerslave and Rime will be in the setlist for the next Early Days tour

Deth 12-24-2005 09:47 PM

I believe it's called 'The Golden Years'. I doubt they'll tour for it though because of the new album coming out next year.

I'm hoping for a return of Powerslave to the setlist

Aakon_Keetreh 12-24-2005 10:22 PM

Im gonna send out there new live album, if u want it just add ur email and ill send it to you

PepsiMetal 12-25-2005 01:10 AM

Uhh, anything maiden is great, so send me that live album please. I need it badly. :naughty:

I'm pretty sure Nicko said that after they tour for the new album, they'll be doing the next tour for the classic stuff, which I guess it'd be called The Golden Years, like you said.

blackthorne 12-25-2005 01:39 AM
Blackthorne, please don't do that again, it's fagged up my browser something rotten.
sorry :upset:

SSOASS is my favourite performance from Bruce (including RiR). I have to say that I normally don't like their "poppier" side. Can I Play With Madness never really did for me what I hoped it could after hearing how much people loved it, but I do love Moonchild. I think that song and Infinite Dreams make the album for me.

ashman 12-25-2005 06:30 AM

So guess who's listening to Paschendale (orchestral Version) on their new 5.1 surround sound system? No not You, Me!!!! Muhahaahahahahahaha

/left Rock in Rio at me flat :upset:

Lord Abortion 12-25-2005 06:31 AM

I'm listening to the Smiths on my computer...
Not quite Touché

If you get rid of the awe inspiring epicsome awesomeness of Paschendale, you'd have the Smiths in a very unusal Skewific way...

the_uber_penguin 12-25-2005 07:33 AM

I read somewhere that the orchestral versions weren't anywhere near as good as the originals, becauase they're just too predictable.

I have to say, the keyboard parts and orchestral parts on all the Iron Maiden songs I've heard has never been as good as I feel it coult be.

i like Wasted Years, it's catchy. when i first got into maiden (i borrowed edward the great off Ollie) it was one of my favourite songs.

JamJar 12-25-2005 05:57 PM

Please could I have the album aswell.

fuzz_meister@hotmail.com

Cheers:thumb:

My favourite poppier Maiden song is probably Wasted Years, it's cool and catchy and you've gotta love Adrian's opening guitar riff!

PepsiMetal 12-25-2005 05:59 PM

Wasted Years kicks ***. It was my favorite maiden song like 3 months ago. Now it's dream of mirrors, but it'll also change soon.

i voted for bruce and i got iron maiden and sevetnh son for christmas. which means now i got iron maiden through seventh son and fear of the dark. im hella stoked. anyway go vote for bruce.

Lord Abortion 12-26-2005 08:39 AM

Wasted years was one of my favourites when Edward the Great and RIR were all I had heard...

Josh 12-26-2005 09:54 AM

dammit, there's blatant cheating happening in that poll! people with one post, which is in the poll thread, are voting. hmm, i suppose they only just joined and that was the first thing they saw  Bruce was losing by 1 vote last time i checked.

blackthorne 12-26-2005 11:40 AM

1 vote if we lose ..... at least we will have come second i spose

classicrockman 12-26-2005 12:23 PM

I'm cool if Freddie wins. Queen's one of my favorite bands. So many people voted for Freddie for "Boheimn Rhapsody" only. He has many other good recordings you know.

But I actually voted for Bruce. You know, as long as Maynard doesn't win. :)

blue3 12-26-2005 04:56 PM

I voted for Chris Cornell.. Even though I wanted to vote for Bruce and Freddie too.

..I got a Maiden shirt today :)

Aw3someman 12-26-2005 04:57 PM

which one.?

blue3 12-26-2005 05:03 PM
which one.?
Killers. It was the only one that was size small.

classicrockman 12-26-2005 05:39 PM
Killers. It was the only one that was size small.
I have a 'Killers' shirt too. It's my favorite Maiden album cover.

temporary 12-26-2005 06:04 PM

Had to make my 666th post in here.

Oh, and as to the Wasted Years discussion, its definitely a good song, although far from their best. I love the riff at the beginning, and the verses are pretty strong.

blue3 12-26-2005 06:57 PM

Hah, congrats on the 666th post.
I have a 'Killers' shirt too. It's my favorite Maiden album cover.
Yeah, it's cool.

Deth 12-26-2005 08:36 PM

Maiden swag for Christmas!

Killers (Had it in mp3 form, no more!)
The X-Factor (Incredible)
Rock In Rio DVD (also amazing)

EDIT: Could someone send me 2AM and The Unbeliever? For some reason iTunes doesn't want to rip it. eddiesminion@gmail.com if you could.

rippa32 12-26-2005 09:54 PM

I am going to buy an Iron Maiden CD with christmas money. I have Number of The Beast and Powerslave and want to get all the eraly days albums and then get the newer ones. So should I get Iron Maiden or Piece Of Mind?

PepsiMetal 12-26-2005 09:59 PM

I'd get peice of mind. I like the songs more on it then iron maiden. But both are really good.

vashts80 12-26-2005 10:03 PM

Piece of Mind or Seventh Son.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-26-2005 10:13 PM

get Seventh Son dammit!

I took a screenshot of my 666th post :D

dustyboy316 12-27-2005 12:14 AM

I jsut realized after lsitening to a horde of Maiden songs, they don't really have any bad songs. They're all as epic as the last one.
