Yessir. The one that seperated D/R/T. I actaully had hope in it up until that point. :p
It was a sad day for Tool fans. |

You guys are talking about the Holy Gift right? well I can agree with you on the D/R/T seperation. However, The Lateralus Code (talked about here a while back) has it's moments and keeps L/D/R/T together. Just thought I'd mention it. |
The Lateralus code is the one that is spliced and such, right? Or are you talking about another alternate track listing?
|
Yep, thats what I'm talking about. I went ahead and did it a while back, and here's how the final product looked on a screen. I must say that the intro turned out to be very cool.

I'd ask you to YSI the final product, Greg, but we're both on Dialup.
So how did it sound?
It was ok I guess. I didn't have high expectations of it to begin with. A lot of it (particularly the second half) was just the songs playing through. The transitions between songs were ok, but not anything to get overly excited about. Don't expect and Pink Floyd type transitions. The layering of songs was the most impressive aspect of it all, especially the intro to The Patient with EBA and Mantra. Really it's just a different take on the album, and it's worth giving a listen just for a change. Apparently similiar stuff can be done with Ænima, but I'm yet to try that. EDIT: I will upload you The Patient from it in two weeks when I'm back at uni. If after that the final product is requested, it shall be delivered. |

No, I thought the famous Holy Gift did actually separate them. |
Greg- Hopefully by the time you're back at uni, I'll be on DSL or something. Oh, and btw, my msn booted me off, so I didn't just take off on you. :)
About the Aenima deal..It only changes like 3 of the songs, doesn't it? |

I honestly think all that "Holy Gift" stuff isn't real.. but it's interesting and fun to listen to.

Agreed. Fun to listen to, but most of it seems a bit forced. |
It's fun to consider it though. It's really amazing stuff. :amaze:
|
And heck it could be true. . .could be

Yeah and it's not like we have anything better (Tool-related) to do. |

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v305/G_Mac07/CoolEditPro-TheLateralusCodeGregsWork.jpg
Hey could you link me to a site that tell you hwo to properly set that up? Or if you could post how to do it. Thanks. |
i didnt like their no quarter. they butchered up a good song.
123. Most Tool fans would say that the Tool version is better, but I disagree. You can hardly understand what Maynard is singing in the verses. The original is a classic, not a mediocre song. |

Part one of the OK concert. :) Its in DAT format, so I don't know if it will work for everyone. :-/
Can anyone please reupload part one :) please please |
Nah, Tool's version was better, most people will agree.
no way. led zeps was way better than tools. in my opinion. but, i respec your judgment. i will no way influence you to like led zeps way of no quarter, than tools. but led zeps is better. :) |
Maynards voice is so distant in the tool version, it gives it a really ethreal sp? atmosphere. Also the whispering in the verses creeps me out quite a bit. PLus im not much of a zep fan...

Would anyone here be able to help me with some amps settings for Disposition on Bass? I rarely get to use my bass and I really want to be able to play it (with it sounding decent). Please note I also have a lack of effect and no Whammy.

I also ahve trouble getting the correct sound but I dunno play around with the controls on the amp and your tone and **** til you get something right. Also make sure you have the right tuning! |
Sorry, didn't mean(sp?) to do that :upset: you're voice isn't that bad, but its not ment for singin maynard songs, when i first heard it i thought that it fitted more in something like a punk, hardcore or metal band. Sorry again for making you feel bad :upset:
No, you didn't make me feel bad at all. I just relistened to it and realized how bad of a job I did. I would be able to do alot better and that's what I was disappointed by. |

Will you re record it? |
If I have time by the deadline which might happen.
I won't rerecord everything though, just the crappy parts. |

He also takes away the great melody that you can hear Plant sing perfectly in the original. If anything, the Zeppelin version has the creepier singing in the verses. By the way, I DO like the Tool version, it's just not that great IMO. |
