In a nutshell: I was playing basketball at uni, big 300+ kid was posting me up but I wasn't letting him back down on me, on accident he steps on my toe, breaking the toenail in two. When he twisted, the broken half went underneath my nail bed and skin, causing a huge infection.
Result: after surgery, part of my big toe is removed, I'm missing about 85% of my toenail, and now I'm bandaged up to prevent more infection: Toe with bandage... no carnage, though. Just swollen and bandaged.
 Take a picture of the toe!
I can't remove the bandage: doctor's orders. But let me assure you that it's disgusting. I mean, come on. A portion of my big toe is gone, and so is over 3/4 of my toenail. I have to go back on Saturday for more X-rays to see if the infection got to the bone or bloodstream and so they can change the bandage, and they emphasized that I do not under any circumstances remove the bandage since I'm going to be disgusted/shocked/whatever about what my toe is going to look like. They injected a nerve block into my foot, and then brushed my foot with iodine (hence the disgusting yellow that I tried to clean up my foot of). I then was able to watch the surgery since they numbed my entire foot. I watched them knife out a piece of my toe with a blade, then take this tool and open up my toe some more, and then dig out the broken-in-half toenail from underneath my nail bed. Then, I watched them cut off the rest of my toenail that wasn't broken, save for a little bit. I was cracking up the whole time, though. Not because I got gassed, but because I thought it was funny that I was watching my toe get butchered by this surgeon and that it wasn't hurting at all. Cute assistant girl wouldn't stop laughing at my reactions. Every time the surgeon removed a chunk of my toe, I would have this ****grin on my face and just shake my head. I guess I could imagine that that would be strange if a patient looked like he was enjoying the surgery. But the thing is, I didn't feel jack shit.
crap, man... that must hurt like hell
My toe is going to be numb for the next eight hours or something. I can't feel anything. But once the numbing wears off, I'm going to be in for a fun night. I got drugs though, since the infection spread a bit. I should be good. I was offered Vicodin, but I don't think I need to take it. I'm just on this antibiotic thing that's the size of a jelly bean.
Ohhh yeah. I remember hearing about it, and I think you even posted a picture. Anyhow, I think I may be contractually obligated to say that you have a "wuss" injury :p (note: please check the smiley; I'm only kidding around here)
You might be thinking of my leg that I posted when I slid in baseball, and how raw and disgusting that was. That's all cleared up now, though, luckily. Just a scar for the next couple weeks. And yeah, it seems like it's a wuss injury, but it's my big toe, man. That's my balance for my entire left side of my body, especially when I'm in the crouch for baseball. If I didn't take care of this, then the infection would have gotten to either my bone or my bloodstream, and that would have royally sucked, to be honest. But, the ribbing is justified, I admit. It's not like I was getting life-saving surgery or anything. Just something minor on my foot. It's just that part of my foot is missing and probably in the garbage somewhere. And now I only have 15% of my toenail, and God knows how much of my toe is left. I honestly don't know. I still think it's hysterical that I watched part of my body get amputated and was laughing the whole time. |

The thing that's frustrating for me is that they said that the jelly-bean-sized medication is going to make me violently ill in three days. It's like, uh... thanks.
That, and I still can't feel my foot. Every time I walk on it, it feels like mush. And I'm still extremely loopy, if you can't tell. I was re-reading my older posts, and I only repeated myself about five thousand times :-\
Jom's on Drugs ! Wpah ! Please listen to my recording! You don't have to listen to the whole thing, because it's kind of long, but just check it out. I need some criticism. |

I'm going to say that more often, great phrase  |

Gah! another semi-local band. |
Yes, well if you ever like any punk bands, they are semi-local to me beotch.
|
Isn't Alien Ant Farm the band that did the unnecessary cover of "Smooth Criminal" and then blissfully faded into obscurity?

Ha, too bad you live a bajillion miles away from Riverside, CA, or there'd be some truth to that. Bizzitch. |

Man, that cover was pretty good. :) Also, the pixies rule. Hail Pixies! NP: Pixies - I bleed |

HOLY SHIT I JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHING!
Yesterday I went to a friend's house and he has a whole bunch of Sega Genesis ROMs on his computer. He's like, "Dude, I HAVE to show you the greatest yet lamest game ever." It was "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker." Seriously. Object of the game: you're Michael Jackson, and you have to save children from kidnappers. Your powers: you punch and kick magic. Your music: hardcore MIDI versions of MJ's songs. When you open doors and windows, you go "Ow!" and spin. And the best part is that you can moonwalk. If you get hit by a bad guy, your health goes down. But when you save children, they go, "Michael!" and your health gets restored. This game... bloody hysterical. Who knew that MJ would be under fire ten years or so later for child molestation? Isn't the game just a bit ironic? And the best part is when I was playing, I would say in a really shitty Michael Jackson voice, "I'll save you, children! Come with me... to Neverland Ranch, where all good dreams exist!" or something ridiculous like that. The drugs are making me grey. Time for a break. Discuss the irony of this game for the next couple posts. Have any of you played it? Actually, if you're extremely bored, I highly recommend that you download an emulator and the ROM and just play the first level. The music is "Smooth Criminal," which was being discussed earlier, which triggered this memory. |

The Pixies were mentioned so much in the book about Radiohead I am reading, so I had to check them out. |
I still haven't figured out how to work an emulator.

ZSNES is really easy to use, and you can play Super Nintendo games.
I have actually, yeah. So long ago I don't remember it very well, but I've played it.
Stop living a lie, we all know you play it every night. |
Man, that cover was pretty good.
Eh, I was unimpressed...weirdo transracial paedo as he may be, Michael Jackson was at one time a good pop star. His version of Smooth Criminal is much better than AAF's. I have not played the Jacko Sega game. The Pixies are pretty good. |
Michael Jackson game.
Yeh man, i used to play that all the time at my mates. All the villains jump out of the back of 2d car boots and attack you, and you can throw your hat at them. |
I had zsnes but wiped it, will download it later
off to do revision now- see you in an hour |
I have the N64 one. It has the greatest games though.
Mario Kart 64 Mortal Kombat Trilogy Super Mario 64 Starfox 64 Wayne Gretzkys 3D Hockey Ken Griffey Slugfest Amazing. |
But I want to play Sega games, not Super Nintendo. :(

It wasnt unnecessary, i think it ruled. Also, they are releasing a new album, and their other album, truANT, fucking rules. |
